I'm not sure when the changeover for the jumbo-box, climate control, rear electric windows and 18in to become standard is - I have a 56 plate Octavia which I believe is an 07 model year car as it has the red calipers and Stream MP3 head unit. However it no rear electric windows, no jumbo box, no climate control and only 17in alloys.

John

I have a 56 plate Octavia (Oct 2006) it has the green calipers and had a non-MP3 Stream head unit. However it has got rear electric windows, jumbo box, climate control and cruise control which I'm guessing were all spec'd by the original purchaser.

I think cruise was standard kit as I didn't pay for it on mine.

Before they were standard, the jumbo box, rear electric windows and climate control were an optional pack together for a reasonably low price. I was surprised when I went to test drive my car that it was lacking them as any others I'd seen did which made me assume they were standard. I'm not sure about cruise control though, my car has it but it's also got a couple of other options so it's not quite the bare vrs spec. I would have liked the rear electric windows but glad not to have the climate control and jumbo box (aux in would have been handy without needing the box).

John

Why are you glad not to have climate and jumbo box? Surely the climate is a more disirable feature? The jumbo box is not so jumbo but a handy little storage spae and provides a nice arm rest too.

As for cruise control, this is now standard on the FL but was an option on the preFL vrs.

Thank you everyone!

Interesting learning there, no mention of electric rear windows in the ad so I'll have to add that to my list of questions to the dealer as I'd obviously prefer to have those.

Thanks again

I hate climate control, it and I always seem to have different ideas of what cooling/heating is required and where plus I find it difficult to use the controls when driving. It's been great having proper physical controls again which I can easily feel and control without needing to look away from the road and it does exactly as it's told, I don't like having anything behind the handbrake to catch my elbow on so although I miss the aux in I prefer the tradeoff. I'm well aware that this is a different view to most people but I'm not recommending it to anyone else.

minicity - I'd definitely double check the spec exactly as I agree rear electric windows are handy, I know I'll be missing them this winter.

I'll definitely be checking, we've been a bit spoilt with the Golf, it appeared to of been spec'd for someone quite high up in Rockstar games as a car for when they were in the UK so it had pretty much everything, not overly fussed about losing the full leather it has but simple things like rear electric windows are a must!

Its not on mine.......58 plate octy vrs. :(

6 CD changer is NOT in the boot, it's in the head unit.

Silly me, the OP is looking at a July 2007 model, they were in the boot back then

Don't want to clutter up the thread, but there's a fairly straight-forward way to install an aux-in on the Stream if you were interested (at the expense of the CD-changer). This

Drop me a PM if you want more info.

Mines in the boot too,i also have a single cd slot in the head unit. :)
