Candy White/ black roof -good idea?

Featured Replies

Waiting on my Candy White petrol DSG vRS due build week 42, delivery wk 46, canny wait! In addition to powder coating wheels gloss black, have spotted a local vinyl wrap specialist, thinking about wrapping the roof in gloss black, head turner or turn off?

It will give it some contrast - I say go for it; it will look the dog's ball sack!

Couldn't of put it better myself Harry, infact I like the idea so much, I may have my black vRS resprayed apart from the roof!! :giggle:

There is a 5 series BMW by me that is white with black roof and alloys, looks really nice.

Thinking of doing my silver estate with a black roof also

I have seen Audi's and BMW's with this done and it looks the mutts nutz................go for it and don't forget to post pics.

Agreed, sounds great with the wheels done as well........

Theres a guy near me who does it. -( w r a p r o t e k t ) I've seen pics of an audi and golf that he has done , and it does look very very nice!

Do it, post some pic's and we will tell you if it's a good idea

aye it was my plan until I was made redundant :'( I was thinking of gettin the roof wrapped in gloss black and the mirrors done in gloss black.

I recon it would look great. if you can get a decent shot i'll photoshop it on for you to give a pretty good idea of how it'll turn out.

there was a white hatch posted recently with a photoshopped black roof - looked good.

mine already has black (ish) wheels and mirrors, so i don't think it needs any more black.

just fyi - i painted my mirrors first of all to match the wheels, didnt like the look really, so i swapped them for some unpainted mirror covers from a base model octavia. i know its not to everyones taste but i love them - very simple, matt black.. only 30 quid each from the dealer, 2 mins to fit.

someone in my building has a white M3 (E92) with a black roof - parked it outside today.

it looks the dogs.

ah, yes, the difference is tho' that that actually has a real carbon roof, not a vinyl wrap.

aye, I know that. ;)

it's more about the contrast than anything.

to be honest though, the M3 today is stunning, truly stunning.

My car is on order being built this week. I am having the alloys powder coated and thinking of having the roof done.

Vinyl wrap is the answer because its easily reverted back to white if your not happy or want to sell the car on as standard in the future.

Go for it. Should'nt cost the earth either as its only a small easy part of the car to cover.

Get it done. Tonight.. :thumbup::rofl:

I know this is off topic but a good mate of mine is having his mk1 fabia resprayed in white with a very slight blue tint to it similar to a Lamborghini, he was mentioning a black roof aswell maybe I'm sure he'll post pics when it's done :D
