FM problems...

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I have excellent MW reception, but ZERO FM reception. The car is the wife's and she seriously wants the FM channels!

I know i need a new aerial (The old one was cut in half by some plonker!), I've ordered one and I'm hoping it will solve the problem...

One question i have is this:

If the booster in the base is gone, then would that mean there would be no MW/FW at all...?

Booster will be fine. FM needs the full antenna length due to it being higher frequency.

Hi, are there any tips on how to install the fm booster?

The instructions say

"Plug the signal separation filter into the radio antenna socket and EITHER attach the blue wire to the number 5 position in the ISO Block (antenna line output feed). OR connect it to the Blue or the Blue/White wire already occupying this position."

Now are these instructions correct for the fabia? here are my cables, the blue and white cable in number 5 is present just above the red wire in the lower part of the picture. Cheers.

I just spliced mine onto the ignition power cable going into the stereo - has worked fine, and not burst into flames yet ;)

if your aftermarket headunit has a electric aerial output then connect the booster to this and it will be fine.

I did just splice it to the blue and white one and it works great. can now get loads more stations. And my rear speakers are in too. And ive sealed the rear door carriers, im really happy :) Thanks for all the support on the forums everyone.
