Hi Guys,

I'm looking for some feedback for a potential employer! I've been asked to carry out a swot analysis on Euro Car Parts with whom I'm looking to join as a Branch Manager.

I know a lot of you guy's carry out your own repairs and as such buy from motor factors.

This would be most helpful in me understanding what their customers perception is.

Please feel free to pop any comments in the review.

Many thanks for your help.

Darren

Only used them once as GSF are usually cheaper, and have a branch closer to me. Also am slightly biased against ECP as I was once cut up by one of their blue vans! Can't fault the part though - think it was an inlet manifold gasket set for a Peugeot 205. Website looks a lot better since I last used it btw.

i've got an ecp branch fairly close to me, but i never bother to use them as has already been said above, a little bit too expensive for some parts.. stuff like oil and filters spark plugs etc are cheaper to buy from the vw/skoda dealer parts department

I use ECP for a few parts, web site is far better than GSF and I tend to buy online a lot. Never had any problems. As a branch manager it will be upto you to make your branch a good one people will return to.

I've used ECP quite regularly over the past 4 - 5 years and never had a problem. Delivery is always quick, parts are good quality.

A happy customer

BTW - I have NO experience of GSF, only just found them by reading this topic ;)

Got a local one, but TPS and GSF are both usually cheaper for common parts.

For the parts where TPS is expensive, then GSF still beats out ECP. That plus the ECP website is truely awful for detailing part numbers, so often coming back with we don't have that against a skoda, when they sell it for a golf and it's the same part number.

never had any problems bought some wipers from there recently cheaper than ebay and also free delivery

I got a job offer there , to be fair , I went for the dealers

Less stressfull you see ;)

But at where I used to work ECP was excellent

Discount did differ quite a bit though , but all OK

I would use Partco for my bits though , as there is a really nice guy who works there , he is clever , and to be fair , parts are a good price :D

Just flatter the eyelashes :D

Ive used sheff branch afew times.. First time the guys helped me out

2nd time they explained things were changing ie new manager etc

3rd time new manager was in and i was treated like crap.

They lost sales and a customer for life

This was afew years ago now.. so I hope things have changed..

Used Stockport branch a few times, good service, competitive pricing, tend to use TPS more slightly cheaper.

Hi Folks,

Many thanks to those who have helped, I have my interview tomorrow! fingers crossed

Cheers Darren

Wanted some oil and brake fluid recently.

Checked online prices and got a printout.

Went to Milton Keynes shop, 5 minutes down the road.

They didn't have any brake fluid (although could get in next day) and the oil was more expensive than the web price.

Not very impressed tbh.

Only had my skoda VRS a week and ive bought shed loads of parts including timing kit and oil pump. and i bought these from GSF purely for the fact they were cheaper than ECP and got recommended to me

Hi Folks,

Many thanks to those who have helped, I have my interview tomorrow! fingers crossed

Cheers Darren

So did you get the job? Assuming you did, what discount will you give us?
