Paint & Leather combinations

Featured Replies

Always worked on the basis of a light paint dark interior and vice versa

Putting my concerns of how well the Ivory leather and cloth will wear aside I prefer it to the black as I think it lifts the interior and is a nicer place to be.

Colours that are winning so far are Cappucino, Sliver and Steel Grey but not sure how the Silver/Grey would look with Ivory interior ??

Any thoughts and of course pictures welcome

on what car are you thinking about such combinations?........personally i dont like light leather interiors and mostly like black. Some of the flashy red/tan colours on BMW's and audis look nice with silver or white cars

That is my thinking too, but on all those colours it would have to be a black interior.

If you can live with Ivory (clean job, don't wear dark jeans or intend to move pets around etc) then it will always complement a dark colour better.

Would always have black leather if possible. I only have black or silver cars! I also make my wife have exactly the same.........my prerogative as I pay for them!!

Gank, that's what it will look like, the combo has no contrast and that's why it fails, you need a nice Ivory wrapped up in Storm Blue.

My thoughts (as a graphic designer):

Car // Interior

White // Black

Blue // Cream

Silver or Grey // Black

Black // Black

Cappuccino // Either

Mocha // Either

Rosso // Cream

Green // Cream

Purple // Either

Aqua // Black

But then.. everyone has their own personal tastes.

My thoughts (as a graphic designer):

Car // Interior

Silver or Grey // Black

Black // Black

Exactly what I said...........I must be graphic designer material!! :giggle:

I'd say your not far off there mate, just my opinion of course

Mines Silver with Black - think it would look a we' bit odd with Ivory to be honest!

I saw a Black Magic with ivory. The car was only two months old and the leather looked awful. Go for black and black. emoticon-0148-yes.gif

We have a superb sedan 2010, silver grey with black leather and the leather, and the black carpets are a pain to keep clean, as everything, but black coloured dirt, shows right away. It also gives the car a very gloomy and dark, sombre, interior. BTW We never transport animals. and childeren only on an occasional basis. Needless to say we ordered ivory this time on the 2011 modell estate. Can easily be just as diffcult to keep clean as black, but will look much more classy and "enlightened" than black.

I have an Octy estate in Cappucino and it's a great colour - way better choice than silver. For me, the VAG silver just looks dull. Mind you, I would only have Cappucino on an estate, not a hatch. Like others, I would stick to darker coloured leathers for the contrast and if it's OEM that means black. To get a feel, there are lots of silver or Cappucino Octy L&K estates around with light leather interiors and they all look washed out due to the lack of contrast IMHO.

Neighbour has a new Superb Elegance in black with the cream interior , it looks gorgeous. Black leather looks OK, but needs plenty aluminium billets to lift an interior, and I hate any car with Grey leather it is insipid! Also That rosso brunello metallic is lovely too
