Just looking rou d at tow cars and was wondering what the maximum towing wieghts for a diesel octavia were, i am planning to use my next car to tow my next trackday car round, but may have to invest in a full sized 4x4 if its not viable.

From memory std 2.0tdi can tow 1400kg but i think a Scout can tow 1600kg nose weight 75kg.

correct as per the website which states all the diesel range is 1400kgs apart from the 4x4 (1.6 or 2.0cr) and that is 1600kgs

petrol ranges from 900kgs to 1500kgs depending on hatch or estate and engine all have the nose weight of 75kgs

i tought diesels were 1400/1600 kg depending on terrain ie steepness of slopes likely to be encountered.

Me..... i'll stick with 1600kg

At the risk of stating the obvious, the limit is 1400 for a braked trailer.
