Fabia estate - what colour should I go for

Featured Replies

Driving an Octy 1.8 TSI elegance at present. Will be taking early retirement so thinking of a Fabia 1.2 DSG elegance with all the options.

Don't do a great lot of miles so feel this is the best option (enough room for the mutt).

Hard to tell what colour to go for. I'm thinking of arctic green or black magic - opinions?

Also the spec on the web site config shows auto headlights but the brochure doesn't mention this. Are they auto or not?

Thanks

Black rather than arctic green but personally I like white  http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/168066-tsi-dsg-elegance-estate/

No auto lights unless they've upped the spec?

Id go for the arctic green, they look classier in the light metaliic colours IMHO

I would go for Artic Green.

White

i personally would avoid black cos it looks like a hearse, and white cos it looks like an ambulance. i'd choose red because it looks great and it's no extra charge but if it's a vrs i'd go for green if i had the budget

On seeing how good Fat Bloke's car looks, I ordered a white one.

However, over the weekend I saw one in Anthracite Grey and it looked really really good. So good, that I wonder whether I've ordered the right colour now!

I like the dark grey clour too but it's too close to being road coloured :o

SWMBO had a metallic grey mondeo and people were forever pulling out on her and clipping it in car parks :peek: Invisible car

You did

Or to throw another one into the mix what about Silver? You don't see many silver Fabia estates around.

I would have got Artic Green if I had been doing a factory order but ended up with Brunello Rosso red which I adore and wouldnt change for the world :D my neighbour has just got a Fabia in the green and I certainly wouldnt swap it now....just goes to show

not black shows every little scratch

Brunello Rosso - I have seen loads of the hatches and never seen on in the same colour as my estate - seen a yellow (eww), white, dark grey and light blue estates but think the darker colours suit the estates more than the lighter colours.

I have to agree with you Ross, after seeing an Octavia estate in Rosso Brunello I ordered the same colour for my (still waiting) Fabia Elegance Estate 1.2 TSI DSG the paint just looks so rich and deep :)

yes its good, purple from some angles, deep maroon from others, i like mine with the other mods mine has as standard from the dealership thanks to the vRS and might even be getting some more if i keep it!

Oh and in answer to the other question, no they are not auto lights, the only things thats auto are the DRLs (once you have switched them on in the fuse box!) other than that you have to maunally turn the lights on yourself, can get cornering head and foglights as options if thats what you mean?

you don't see many fabia estates around in general

True we have rarity value........thats why an elegant colour is sooo important :rofl:

verymuch personal taste, but there are practical considerations

I think black looks great, but as others have said, notoriously hard to keep clean, and little defects will show.

The light metallics like arctic green silver and aqua blue tend to hide scratches and look clean longer!

I have an aqua blue Octy estate (pretty much the blue-grey equivalent of arctic green). It's an elegant and sharp colour I think, but can look a bit insipid in dull weather. You might think the same about arctic green.

Resale may not be an isue for you, but conventional colours like dark blue, grey and silver tend to hold their value a little better. Some people have a superstitious aversion to green cars!

Rosso Brunello is an interesting option: elegant and a little unusual.

I have the satin grey, which is a pale blue. Seen a few estates in that colour and I like it a lot. I had my car from stock so couldnt choose the colour but glad I have the satin grey as it hides dirt and chips brilliantly. I do like the rosa brunello a lot though, I might have chosen that if a factory order but I do prefer the paler colours tbh.

I saw one is gloss dark grey yesterday - that looked quite nice or would do on a decent spec version.
