ordered mine in september - vat free

my dealer is not doing vat free on the vrs,was in there today, out of intrest whats people paying for a new one as iam thinking of selling mine

No VAT free on the superb apparently

Just checked Skoda UK web site and i quote "All Octavia models VAT free*" and on following the links it says this.

Model shown is an Octavia vRS 2.0T FSI 200bhp at £16,962.45 recommended OTR including optional metallic paint at £348.94 RRP after price reduction is applied.

And you can even download & print the price list which lists the savings on all models.

Given that the offer is only applicable to new car deliveries before 31st December 2010, and considering the long delivery times for the vRS, maybe the dealer was meaning that they wouldn't be able to supply a factory build car before the end of the year, thus, the deal can't apply to any further orders. Just my guess though.

Your dealer is clearly telling you porkies.

I would suggest you find another Skoda retailer who knows their profession.

These offers are clear as day on the Skoda UK website and for a Skoda retailer to provide inaccurate information in relation to them is unforgivable.

Don't waste your time in that showroom.

They could be getting confused with the Fabia range. On the Fabia you get 0% vat on all models except the VRS (probably because it is a new model so selling well anyway). But on the Octy you get vat free on the VRS. I bought mine for £19k for a race blue CR VRS Estate with leather, sunset glass, auto lights, maxidot, heated seats, spare wheel and mats.

ordered mine july, witt zero vat & 0% finance

£17K netted me a VAT Free vRS back in March (pickup in May)

Also, to the poster who says that this is running out on 31/12/2010 - apparently this is no longer the case, and it still applies to new orders (Or something)

Fair dos. It wouldn't be the first time that Skoda have extended their VAT free offer. By my reckoning it's been extended three or four times already, and certainly been applicable throughout this year.

website states

Don't forget the small print

*VAT reduction (based on the VAT rate applicable at 25th May 2010) available on all Octavia models. Reduction applied to the RRP including factory fitted optional extras.

Offers available for new car retail deliveries before 31st December 2010, may be varied or withdrawn at anytime and are subject to vehicle availability.

Model prices are the recommended 'On The Road' price, which includes delivery, 12 months Road Fund Licence, DVLA First registration Fee (at £55), and apply to the United Kingdom only.

though on an advert in the daily mail for the fabia its VAT offer is on all fabia's excluding the vRS ORDER before 31/12/2010 yet on the website it states on deliveries before 31/12/2010

so make of that what you will!

beware the catch out phrase - Delivery before 31 Dec 2010 emoticon-0104-surprised.gif

Given the build lead times @ this time you would have to be exceedingly lucky to get 1 built & delivered from the factory

VAT offer does not appear to mention delivery now. It looks like you get it as long as you order before 31 Dec.

yes went into HORTONS SKODA in lincoln yesterday octy vRS .. VAT free with 50% deposit and 50% is 0% finance

talked to them about drivethedeal.com said no-way cant match that

So that's ALL Octavia models delivered before 31st December 2010.

....and that contradicts the statement made on the new "NO VAT" tab recently added to Skoda's website. emoticon-0124-worried.gif

Skoda website isn't known for isn't accuracy though is it? It's aways lagging behind. Get the latest info from a switched on dealer.

VAT free applies to any order placed before 31-12-10. If a dealer tells you otherwise then simply take your business elsewhere.

The deal will be extended again I think, Imagine what a 20% increase in price will do to sales! I expect the "VAT free" pricing to continue for a long while.

Ordered a new L&K Octavia on 4th October and delivery expected in January, but very flexible. Dealer said that the VAT free offer still applies providing the ORDER goes in before 31 December and nothing to do with build and delivery dates. This has been backed up by a Skoda advert in the press a week or so ago of which I've kept a copy (just in case of course).
