Seat Repair

Featured Replies

Finally getting around to fixing some niggling issues on my Mk1 vRS after nearly 2 years of ownership

One of previous owners managed to leave 2 nasty cigarette burns on the rear seat. It's on the fabric part, not the leather.

Has anyone ever got this repaired? Is there any patching solution available online to fix this?

I'm in Ireland, not the UK btw.

If they're on the rear seat base, putting a new cover on is relatively easy. You need to take car getting the hognose rings out, but you can replace them with cable ties if you can't re-use them. Maybe see if a scrappy has any?

Yeah,it's on the base.Is it easy to get a replacement cover?Or would a scrapyard be my only choice

prob is iirc covers are quite expensive, either scrappy or buy a whole interior from someone like me who has upgraded, then sell on what you dont need ;)

Yeah, the cost of an OEM interior + fitting isn't far off that for a full leather re-trim - so that gives you an idea of the cost from the dealer!!!

Ha,thanks for the offer but the rest of the interior is in great nick, someone only commented on today how immaculate it was.

I might try to see if there any Reupholstery Repairs place that could do it.
