knocking noise?

Featured Replies

as title, it sounds like a cv joint maybe but only does it in reverse and only with full left hand lock. to top it all off will maybe happen once and when its cold?

if you go for a drive then do it it doesn't happen?

i was thinking a joint might have dried out and need greasing but its got me baffled. anyone else had the same or similar happen?

let the poor fecker out of the boot and the noise will stop lol

if the noise came from the rear i'd be even more baffled lol,

I thought that is where the misses got stored after her last batch of car destruction :giggle:

Got to be worth checking none of the CV boot covers have split/come off, or that they have grease in them....

While changing the drivers side wheel bearing today discovered the cv boot had let all the grease out causing the joint to dry out so packed it with grease re fitted the boot and hey presto no more noises. B)
