knocking noise comming front of car

Featured Replies

Hi, aswell as one wheel bearing needing replacing I have a knocking noise thats comming from underneath the front of my VRS, I had the console bushes upgraded last year by unit 18 so it isn't that. When I turn the steering wheel to the right and go over a bump theres a metal knocking noise that sounds like its comming up through the steering wheel if that makes any sense?. I was driving the car tonight and with the stereo off I could hear the car making a noise when going over slight bumps from basically either side of the car. It's doing my head in as Im not one for keeping a car long if it's going to make noises all the time.

any ideas very much appreciated.

Would it be some of the other bushes etc have gone on the front of the car? it's a 07 plate and already falling apart lol.

suspension top mount and bearing possibly....

Mine does this, has done since it was around 6 months old, does it when you go over uneven surfaces at a low speed. I took mine back to the dealers countless times and didnt get anywhere! Ive just learned to live with it!

Mine does it as well, drop-link, according to my local garage. (could be something else on yours though)

no offence mate but there is no way on earth would I just put up with a noise like this since the car was 6 mths old, You shouldn't be getting knocking noises from a car that old, id of left it with the dealers until it was fixed, and if they couldn't do it I would of called Skoda UK.

did you go with the tech for a test drive to demonstrate the noise?
