Feeling a bit peeved about this because I was talked into having the RRP because I wanted the rear foils, and the way it was priced it as a dealer fit it sort of made sense to have the RRP including the foils and the other benefits, including a steel protection plate for the sump. Now I find the foils are factory fitted as standard, the metal shield is now plastic and bits at the back which were protected no longer are! What else is the VW "decontenting" process for Skoda going to remove from what I thought I had ordered?

Build week 47 so too late to change now.

think the issue is with SUK for not knowing these changes were coming and informing dealers and customers and Skoda for not ensuring this 'downgrade' was highlighted clearly to importers. I think it might be worth an e-mail to SUK to ask for a refund or reduction off the cost of the RRP, as there certainly now overcharging for this option with parts becoming standard and others changed or deleted.

I'm considering doing this myself but in courtesy to James before I do I will speak with him first.

Just came across a similar debate on the French Forum of interest was a posted picture of the standard diesel engine insulation panel.

Although expensive I personally much prefer the looks of the RRP reinforced thermoplastic skid plate below;

Their answer will probably be remove the RRP from your order with no guarantees of how that would affect your build date - or leave it as it is, changes covered by the small print. In my case the RRP was purchased in the main to have the protective foils fitted which of course are now standard. I'm with you on this one in that some form of compensation should be applied since we purchased a pack for which one element is now fitted as standard - the foils. The fact that SUK were unaware of the changes until sometime after rubs salt into the wound and leaves that ripped off feeling.

My provisional build has gone from 15 to 17 to 15 and currently sits at 14, so confirmed must be very close.

SUK dispute that the foils were ever part of the RRP. I stuck with the RRP on mine, as I feel the remaining elements are still worth having on our appalling roads, but agree that (like most accessories/options) it's probably overpriced for what it is.

When I challenged SUK about the foils they repeatedly avoided the issue and refused more than once to consider a reduction in the RRP - this of course was long before they were even able to confirm what the RRP changes were!

I gave up in the end as I have a life to enjoy!
