Lights

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I've got a problem with my Fabia.

Got in this morning went to put my lights, side lights came on first (as normal) then when I went for main beam nothing.

Switched the engine off, and tried again, same thing.

I've checked the fuses this evening (corresponding fuse position as to whats in the user manual) and neither of the main beam fuses have blown.

Any ideas as to what could be causing the problem?

They worked perfectly fine yesterday morning (and evening).

Thanks in advance

Dougie

Does dipped beam work? Also check fuse layout, the fuses are reversed on RHD cars (diagram is wrong)

Not unknown for both bulbs to blow almost at the same time. After that, it's check wiring and switches.

Side lights and Full beam both work but not Main beam

Er full beam and main beam are the same thing. Terminology is side lights/dipped beam/main beam.

I'll go stand in the corner with my back to the class :p

If you've checked the fuses (and even if they look OK try another of the same rating) the next easy thing to check is the bulbs themselves. Although it's unlikely for both to blow at the same time it is possible, and it's a quick job to check them. If all that checks out OK then you're probably looking at a faulty light switch, or a wiring fault.

I'll give the garage a call tomorrow and get it booked into look at it.

Thanks for your help
