hi guys,

how do you remove the aerial from the octavia?

i've unscrewed it but it won't come off and just keeps turning around, i don't want to pull it to hard incase i pull the base off the roof

any help would be great

hold the base with one hand and once unscrewed pull with a bit of force, it's anti theft but if you put some force in and pull it will come off.

there are a few threads on this and the answers will all be the same

Must say I have a Fabia VRS.

Aerial base has anti-theft/removal facility, you can slacken aerial off and drop it flat to roof, but not removed readily.

Had mine removed overnight by someone !!!! they slackened it off then yanked it out damaging the threads in the roof base unit.

I then paid £40 to Skoda for a replacement aerial + base unit.!!

I have read that the last yank-out should not damage threads, but experience as said, knows different.

I got mine from the dealers for 21 quid...

And yes, I tried pulling mine off first, but it just ripped the base amplifier apart. The plastic had probably gone brittle with age...
