Removing tyres from alloys

Featured Replies

How easy is it to do yourself - and more to the point is it possible?

I need to make some space but don't want to get rid of the wheels. The tyres are knackered so may as well come off.

Can I do this myself or do you need special equipment to do it?

Thanks

i'd keep them on to protect the rims myself

Your going to struggle without at least the basic equipment.

It is possible, but it is VERY hard going without the right tools and IMO not worth the struggle.

And if the alloys are decent then chances are you will damage them in the process.

Just pay your local (trusted) tyre fitter a fiver cash to separate them. They are normally happy to do this if you are taking everything away with you again.

Ye I think that is going to be the best option.

Thanks evryone for your input.
