Water Dropping

Featured Replies

I'm a happy Octavia RS owner who recently had my car Revo'd with 4bar program.

I'm very happy with the performance no doubt about it 220bhp is NICE!

Today I noticed that under the car, say in the middle of the front wheels (i think it's where the catalyst exhaust is located) i noticed (after doing some hard-driving) that there were something like liquid dropping there.

First thing was to examine what it smelled like (it smelled like nothing) so it had to be water.

Is it something wrong with my car or is it supposed to drop water just by that spot?

Either way I'm taking my car to the Skoda dealer here in Sweden (where I live).

Cheers,

FightingDiva

Welcome FightingDiva.

Can the water be from the airconditioning perhaps?

I would agree with Q; it's water from the a/c.

btw: Welcome!

Cheers.

I'm almost sure that it is the Climatronic (not really an A/C but similar).

Anyway I felt a little unsure of this since it's the first time i've noticed it and wanted to check with the Briskoda Forum before I move into action (taking it to the dealer).

Btw good to be a member of Briskoda :) !!

p.s. You guys could check out too and let me know if it's the same for you (or not).

It will almost certainly be the evaporater of the air con defrosting itself as said before. All cars with air con do it. especially after prolonged use in the hot weather.

You have nothing to fear. In fact I would worry if it didnt.

Cheers

I've seen it many times on my previous Octavai SLX TDi estate and my vRS; water from climate control (I said a/c before as I was too lazy to type it out fully;) ).

What you have to be careful of, if you have a diesel, it oil leaks as the engine is encapsulated and the oil doesn't seep through.

The only reason I found out I had cracked my sump was that I'd also put a hole in the lower plastic engine cover.

Cheers.

I'm very convinced guys :) thanks for the fast replies.

I was just a little worried (because of friday the 13th today) and anything could go wrong (LOL!).

I just though that maybe the extra power gained from revo 4bar remap did something to the car.

It would be great to hear if something has gone wrong after driving an Octavia RS with 4bar Revo.

I've not changed anything on the car only the fuel pressure regulator.

Cheers,

FD

As of today I've tested driving my Octavia RS both with the Climate Control on and off.

These were the results:

CC OFF= No water dropping

CC ON= Water dropping

It was the CC so it's nothing to worry about :D

FD

Yey! What price have I won? :D

I usually switch the A/C off a couple of miles away from my destination and just have the blower on, this "drys" the chiller and helps prevent the condensation/water puddles.

Welcome to Briskoda! Yes its your aircon that was dripping!! I had to re-assure a Volvo driver at a petrol station last summer whos car was doing exactly what yours was doing , he thought he had a coolant leak!!! I asked him if he was using his AC , he said yes , so I explained what happens , as it happens to my car also , especially on a hot , humid day.

I actually though of the same thing as the Volvo owner you stated, since it wasn't that hot outside, but if was quite humid and I did some "hard-driving" with my 4bar Revo'd Octavia RS :drive1:

Is yours tuned Dmac1969vRS?

Cheers,

FD

Yo, Diva!

Nice to see another viking here! :D

FD
