When I press the brake slightly it stops, does it just need a clean up? Kwik thick said it's sticking on at times as it's not constant but seems worse in the heavy rain

Yes they did a full brake check discs and pads were fine although one rear disc was warped slightly :-/

funny though coz after they did the full brake check the front left jammed on and the steering wheel was shaking slightly, he did say it could be getting stuck on and if this is the case how do I fix it ? I honestly think they did something to fvck it so I'd have to go back coz it jammed on half an hour after I left them and they also held onto my locking wheel nut so I had to return

Ok done a bit more searching and it seems I either keep paying for my brakes to get cleaned or put up with the squeaking and moaning brakes when I reverse

Doesn't bother me moaning when reversing what bothers me is the constant squeak and low speed, might pay £20 to get them cleaned today or consider a front brake upgrade

Garage said no point cleaning them it's either the caliper or carrier it's jamming on - do I need a new caliper or a carrier ?

Kwik Fit LOL, I told you not to go there!

Find somewhere quiet and do a dozen or so 60-10 mph hard braking runs (careful of wet leaves in this weather), and THEN see what your brakes are like. The fact you're feeling vibrations and Kwik Fit are telling you they're warped means it's actually a dead cert they're just in need of a good bed-in.

And less of the 'v's instead of 'u's please - this is a family forum.

If the front brake pads are passed 50% wear then they can cause juddering, it's not always warped discs. Have you changed anything yet?

Got it looked at by another garage they say new calipar needed and a track rod end is broke,

Any idea how much a new calipar is? See some on eBay but only in pairs and around £80 I'd be better off upgrading to 1.8t brakes off the octavia

why would they hold on to your locking wheel nut? whats in it for them making you have to go back? also if someone held onto my locking wheel nut id insist on it back, and if they didnt give me it, id put there lights out.

I got it back I meant they forgot to leave it in the boot idiots never again will u go near them

I recently changed both font discs and pads and was rewarded by great responsive braking AND a realy anoying squeek. In answer to my enquiries it seems some tend to do this, might get to do sunday if dry most don't. I have yet to follow given advice to remove antis squeel shims and assemble dry, without lubricants
