Yeti Sales Stats (UK)

Featured Replies

There's an interesting interview with Chris Horrell, Skoda UK's Product Marketing Manager, in the December issue of Diesel Car (on sale from October 27th!!).

He says they were planning to sell 2,500 cars in the year to date, and have actualy sold over 4,000. There is a large order bank, and demand is exceeding supply throughout Europe.

68% are diesel, (with 39% the 2.0 TDI 110, 21% the 2.0TDI 140, and 8% the 2.0TDI 170).

45% are four wheel drive (they had expected 25% originally).

17% are aqua blue, 15% steel grey and 12% musovado.

43% are SE trim, 29% are Elegance trim, 25% are S trim, and 3% E trim.

The Greenline version (so presumably NOT the Greenline engine with any trim level) will arrive towards the end of the year and have a lower ride height than other versions. However they are also looking at a strategy that could see the Greenline technology applied to other models across the range.

The new small City car (ie Skoda's version of the VW Up/Lupo) will be launched early in 2012, with a 7th car being launched by the end of 2012 (perhaps the new car being slotted between the Fabia and Octavia III??)

Interesting, particularly if you compare these figures to our own SMOC poll.

Elegance is the big seller as is the 140TDI and 1.2TSI, also Musovado is top dog for paint finish followed by Steel Grey. Regard fuel type I would put diesel slightly ahead of petrol of the top of my head.

TP

Comparable sats for denmark are as follows:

157 Yetis have been sold, 35 of which are yet to be delivered.

Elegance and 17" wheels are not offered, as the high excise tax makes them prohibitively expensive.

As far as I know, mine is the only 170 hp version.

I presume the bulk are 140 HP Diesel ambitions.

Well that does confirm what my dealer told me & the reason for the long delivery times.

Hi Chris

Intersting info. Is the speculation in brackets about the 7th Skoda yours? It would make sense; the other rumour is for a Skoda family size MPV

Hi Helix,

Yes the interview just stated that the new 7th Skoda model would be launched by the end of 2012.

I've read somewhere else that the next Octavia will be growing in size leaving room for a new model to slot in between it and te Fabia.

I wonder how many SM's are on order and how many they have actually delivered out of the 4000 in the UK.emoticon-0112-wondering.gif

Say they have delivered 3000, that is 3000/22,000,000 cars on the road, = about 1.3 in every 10,000 cars on the road. Not surprising we don't see many on the roads! (4000 would equal about 1.8 in every 10,000).

I see more Aston DB9's than Yeti's.

Exclusivity. I like thatemoticon-0100-smile.gif

I heard that the Yeti was going the same as the nissan cashcow as a +2 model ( making it a 7 seater ).
