Skoda Fabia Coolant problem

Featured Replies

Thing is that i as a noob owned of the skoda added some other brand coolant and mixed it with the EOM Coolant. Ive been reading now and ive seen that it is not recommended to do that.

Well i want to fix my mistake and id like to know how could i fix it. If you could please tell me.

Wouldn't have thought it would make any differance really.

As long as its the same spec you shouldnt need to change it for example G12 is red/pinky fluid commonly used if the bottle your poured into then engine is the same spec dont worry about it.

To flush it you would need to drain the radiator

The other post is correct in that if same type (there are two chemical types and must never be mixed) then okay. To remove any doubts, I solely use one brand (i.e. G12, or other brand equivalent if that's your preference) for the whole system (I use same make even for top ups, so buy more than required). If I was going to use a different make on next service then I drain the existing (no need to flush) and fill with system with new make. If you are at any doubt if mixed a different type (chemically) then it is essential that the system is drained and fully flushed (easy diy job).
