Steer clear of baily!!!!!

Do Forge , quality products

But your engine does not run well with an atmospheric valve

You would be better doing an induction kit , like the Carbonio and a Forge 007P diverter valve

Sounds ace and will improve the throttle responce

Forge 007p is proven to be fault free on our cars. I know of 2 people who bought Bailey's & had EML issues on a VRS & a mkiv Golf, however a mate fitted one on his Cupra 180 & it was fine.

I have Forge clone DV from Mobile ECU Remapping, & it's been fine. £29.99 on eBay.

Brake comp £45 off eBay including post had it for a couple of months and no probs well made.

^ ^ that little badger ^ ^ seems the emphasis is on the noise being at a minimum .. erm, not egsactly what im looking for but ok. is there not a slightly noisier valve that wont make the car flash up lights? cus im fed up of my dash blinking like the car from back to the future lol.

^ ^ will that forge valve^ ^ be noisy and recirc air?

Havent the foggiest what your on about carbonio....?? appears to be an intale pipe for more air to the turbo.... isnt that just freeing up the intake to the turbo just like a cone filter frees up the air intake as a pose to a panel filter..

Can somebody explain to me in simple terms why the EML will come on? i think its because the car has to detect air being re circed back into the intake, and if it doesnt detect it then it throws a wobbly and the light pings up.... am i right -ish? lol

Don't waste your money on the split r, go for the 007. Cheaper and noisier if that's what you want.

ok but this advert as do all of the ones for the 007p say "These valves are available in silver only. They give no audible noise, and are a real 'stealth' improvement, often gaining you 4-5bhp"

I want best of both worlds to a point :p

Well I got my 007p in black. It is louder in the car but still quiet outside.

£29.99 will get you a valve that works perfectly well ;) mine's been on for some 4 years now and I haven't needed to touch it. If you fancy the name on it then by all means get your wallet out :)

That's a load of garbage! No dump valve will give any increase in bhp let alone 4-5bhp

To get any real noticeable noise increase you will need to be running some sort of CAI/induction kit or drilled airbox, although it is slightly noiser than the standard dv.

couldnt care about the 4-5bhp ... that you dont get, i know this its egasactly the same as you get 1-2bhp from an airfilter which is also bolox lol :p

The induction noise cant really be properly changed because its not just a simple butterfly valve like on a NASP car?

For a more throaty sound im thinking about investing in a Milltek non resonated cat back exhaust..

have you a link to this £30 dump valve youve fitted?

If its the noise your after then go for the 007p (or similar copy) with a CAI. You will hear alot more of 'tttsssshhhhh' noise when coming off boost

CAI?

CAI?

Cold Air Intake.

As I said , your engine runs a DIVERTER vale

If you was to put an ATMOSHERIC valve on , then you will get the EML light on (engine management light)

This will come on to pre warn you that you have a boost loss

That is because the ECU will be detcting a boost leak

That is because the ATMOSHERIC vale will be loosing some of the boost

The recirc valve recirculates the boost

If you put an atmospheric vale on , then the boost will be sent in to the atmoshpere to give you the noise that you want

But then , if you went for a CAI (cold air intake) then you will find you will get the great induction noise , and will give you the better throttle response

If you like , try to do a search on Carbonio

I recently fitted the comp brake dump valve haven't had any problems with it, it is slightly louder than the standard dump valve. I had a revo trial remap on the car over the weeked and i did notice a difference in the dump valve and my induction kit it was defenetly louder with the remap when coming off the boost, well i thought it was but maybe iam talking *******s though.

I too have been looking at the £29.99 eBay diverter valves.

I don't fancy forking out twice the price for the name. Are these still tried and tested?

I had quick google and found a VW forum that posted pictures of snapped springs and the like..

Rgds,

Keith.

My experience is 4+years of use with no maintenance, not sure how far that gets towards "reliable" ? B)
