Anyone changed plastic stearing wheel for leather?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

One thing I don't like about our Octy is the thin rimmed plastic steering wheel, even the Fabia has a nicer soft touch thick rimmed jobby.

I've been thinking I would like to change the wheel for a vRS or L&K item.

Anyone done it or have any idea of the cost? Suspect it's going to be expensive with having the airbag involved.

Thanks in advance.

Lee

I'll find out tomorrow for you if I remember.

Thanks Ross.

Would be interested in a price for both RS and L&K wheels and the cost of fitting.

Cheers

Lee

I looked at other wheels, but all the leather ones lack the "ridges" on the back of the wheel that I like in enthusiastic driving...

Removing the airbag and steering wheel isn't such a big deal, as long as the person doing it is clued up.

When K fitted my cruise control, he just "popped" the airbag module out of the steering wheel before removing it Left-hand picture

If you have a 4 spoke wheel then a 4 spoke leather number will cost you

i have an elegance and i don't know if mine is leather or not

i fancy a new one anyway where mine is starting to look a little old. e-bay here we come
