Resetting Service Interval with Maxidot Display

Featured Replies

Hey guys, hopefully someone can help me on this one. As the maxidot display seems somewhat resiliant to reset the service interval as i would have done with the classic spec clocks. "Holding the trip counter pin down and turning the ignition on and continueing to hold the trip counter down" until it reset.

I've tried this several times with the maxidot and cant get it to reset.

As i keep the pin held whilst doing so cycles the trip counter to 0 then back to my current mileage and then it stays on "Service Now!" and doesn't do anything, even holding it for a period of time.

I've managed to reset it once before. But im not entirely sure what i did, but it was in a similar fashion to above.

Can anyone give me some advice?

Cheers

Dan

Isn't there an option in the Maxidot service menu to reset the interval?

The procedure is described in user's manual:

The service interval displays can also be reset as follows by using the reset button ⇒ page 13, fig. 2 on the trip counter:

• Switch off the ignition, press the reset button of the trip counter for distance driven and hold it down.

• Switch the ignition on and release the reset button. Now turn the reset button to the right. The service interval displays are reset.

Hope it helps.

Im sure you just held the pin in when the bog standard clocks were in.

Isn't a option on mine Raglits im afraid, not sure if thats because its retrofitted or not.

It's 'cos your Octy is pre-FL. The FL Maxidot has the option to reset service schedule in the menu.

Oh right thanks for clarifying that, mine doesn't display warnings like which bulb has gone though. Or low screen wash. Probably down to the central convienience unit still being a Classis spec one, and there being no sensor in the wash bottle.
