Bye Bye Greenline

Featured Replies

Heard from company car scheme administrator today that they cant get a quote on Suberb Greenline II estate, and dealer has said launch is not expected any time soon.

Now being pushed to order my next car, not chuffed that my first choice is now unavailable (speed not an issue, looking for low BIK and CO2)

Looks like between Octavia 1.6 CR Elegance, Toyota Avensis TR 2.0D and VW Golf estate Blue Motion tech- all very much second best to Superb= Avensis looses out on space, BIK, fuel consumption and CO2. THoughts on choice of Octy or Golf?

Are you able to select a Superb 1.6 TDI CR hatchback? This in 'S' spec could be worth considering. I have a 1.9 TDI PD105 S with some useful extras and have been extremely pleased.

Alternatively, how about a Octy hatchback with the 2.0 TDI CR 140 engine? I've just convinced a colleague to choose one of these and after his first week of use he's over the moon. The emissions and economy will be better than my current Superb, plus you gain the benefit of more power and a six speed 'box. That said, the Superb has left wind noise and is more relaxing over long distances.

The Avensis is capable, but dull, while the Golf is overpriced and underequipped. The Superb hatch has a larger load area with the back seats foldeed than a Octy Estate!

Before my Superb I had a Superb hatch and found it perfect in size with a boot space far larger than an equivalent Focus or Golf.

Thats really unusual given that car releases in the UK are usually ahead of Ireland...The greenline II is out here in both hatch and combi and I have a quote from our leasing company already...Also as its a replacement for the 1.9 not just the 1.9 greenline it comes in the 3 spec levels and for some reason my leasing company will allow 18" thermistos!..Happy days (Ok, I know its not going to set the world on fire but I'm being forced into a greener car by my company so I may aswell go for practical!!)

The Superb Estate just won out over the Avensis Estate just because it is easier to get the ramp my aged dog needs to get in the car and the rear seat leg room for the inlwas that are quite tall and getting on in years. They found the Superb easier to get in to than the Toyota, but if these wern't a factor, it wold be very hard for me to choose between the two.

Thanks for replies so far- Avensis now ruled out on grounds of cost- tax and economy. Following helpful suggestion now trying car administrator for quote on superb 1.6CR Hatch- will see how this compare to Octavia 1.6CR elegance cost wise then do sums around fuel economy, road tax and BIK payments- also another thread running from someone else on Octy Vs Superb.

Hoping numbers stack up for Superb

:wonder:
