Thinking of swapping the vrs for a tdi, been looking at superbs, octy's, golfs, anything VAG really, trying to cut back and save some dosh on fuel!

I have noticed that the Octavia TDI Elegances have light washers, does this mean they have Xenons too?

My 2001 Elegance doesn't, but I have fitted a HID kit

My 04 Elegance has the washers but no xenons :(

Xenons weren't standard on the Elegance only on the Laurin and Klement and Octy vRS WRC. Possibly optional on other models.

The Elegance did come with headlamp washers as standard though.

As above; the L&Ks have xenons as standard, any other models it was an option - but it was rare to be specified. The easiest way to tell is the headlight unit has two projector lenses (one for the fogs, one for dipped) plus a normal reflector lens, compared with just one projector and one reflector for the non-xenon units.

Don't assume that just because the car has projector headlights (the 'eyeball' inside the lens) that they are automatically Xenon's.

This will be the case in a MKI Octavia, but others have projectors as std (the Superb MKI for one) but normal halogen bulbs.

I have the washers (and the associated larger [5.5litre] tank). I thought the washers were standard on the Elegance, but maybe not unless your car has had a different bumper fitted....
