Cost of first service for Yeti 1.8TSi?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

After my recent post about the price of getting my Yeti serviced in Germany at christmas, I thought I'd better ring round a few local dealers here for comparison purposes.

For some reason Id assumed that I was looking at around £170 which is inline with what I (think!) I remember paying for the first fixed service of my last Skoda - a Mk2 Octavia VRS. I assumed the price would be the same as I was pretty sure the oil, filter and labour would be very similar on the 1.8TSi Yeti.

As a result of this, I assumed my German service quote of £90 (converted from Euros) offered exceptional value for money.

Well Ive just got off the phone from the three local dealers here in the UK and after confirming the car details (all on their system, Identified by reg plate), I have three quotes....

£91.60

£110.98

£90.00 (think she rounded it down as this is where Ive taken my previous car too and she mentioned she remembered me - this is my preffered dealer anyway) :)

I paid £120 for my Fiesta to have an oil and filter changed earlier in the year and this uses over a litre less oil!!

I realise its basically just an oil and filter change only (and an inspection) but does this cost surprise anyone else here? I think its very reasonable!

It looks pretty good to me, I was in my local dealer earlier in the week getting some screenwash and I noticed the prices for Yeti servicing. The 10,000 mile fixed service was £137 and the 20,000 mile variable was £280.

Skoda servicing prices do look very good to me.

Used to amaze me how little the Fabia cost as our other car is £500+ usually per year

Didn't George (Freshacre) have his 1700bhp 4x4 serviced the other week for less than £120?

Stop rubbing it in! :D

Best I could get locally was £150 :S
