Large difference bewteen ASZ and BLT?

Featured Replies

i honestly never notice the stuutter it, it only happens if your looking for it. you need to be crusing at 1800rpm lift off throttle slightly and back on in a low gear to really notice it. its not anywhere near as bad as jase says, he never had a blt obviously lol

i never said it was bad i said they have a stutter ?

My mate has a se, I noticed the stutter first time I drove it. It is rather annoying.

Matt

I notice the stutter on my BLT and todays job is to fix it!

A 9mm gasket as per this guideMy link cost me £2.07 from TPS.

I hope it works, i've found the stutter quite evident since having a re-map.

maybe its just me lol i only find it if im looking for it, cause if im drving economically i change before the 1800 rpm and if impushing it on i change wel above obviously. only occasionally would bother me,

Some standard ASZ engines do have more than 130bhp. Superchips claim the standard engine has 138 BHP. My standard 04 vRS has 142 BHP and 250 lbft of torque. Skoda claim 130bhp and 230lbft..

My octy 130 tdi , actuall states it as 136 BHP on the original docs received with car 54 plate , shown for emission purposes i assume .

I was led to belive the BLT puts out 5000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000bhp more.

just curious why do people keep going on about the BLT engine like this :wonder:

Because when they came out the people with them claimed they were more powerful, whilst taking flack for having a Euro4 engine that stuttered. Just forum banter.

Forum banter that VRSDanny appears to have taken rather personally :p

who cares if it's a BLT or an ASZ, they're both poxy diesels and when it's bolted into a Fabia vRS it's an automatic fail anyway...

Both are officially 130bhp. In practice it seems that both are usually somewhat more than that. Certainly Autocar's early test car was significantly quicker to 60mph than Skoda's claim.

That was more down to the car's unscheduled stop at Superchips on the way to the Autocar offices. The 7.9 seconds 0-60 they measured ties in rather neatly with the 163bhp that Superchips were offering at the time...

A belated add-on to this thread,

My wife's car (06 reg BLT) recently went on Tunits rolling road and delivered 151 bhp as standard, 176 with Tunit box.

Since been on another rolling road near me (Chesterfield area) which confirmed both figures within a gnats chuff of each other.

So, extra power, no extra power, ASZ or BLT.... I'd say either as long as they are fit And healthy with service history behind them.
