At £55 each is it possible to order 5 spare wheels with the new monster.......might be a cheap way of getting a complete set of winter wheels.

Don't suppose the dealer would entertain that, just playing devils advocate :giggle:

Hi Onesque,

like your thinking, have a set of winter wheels already, however with me letting PAT go I've had some interest expressed regard what I'm doing with my winter wheels and tyres :wonder: Noted there very pricey now on mytyres at £180 + delivery a corner for exactly what I have currently :o

Just had an e-mail back from SUK re the Rough Road Pack and alloy wheels.

Rough Road Pack

Thermoplastic shield replaces the steel for weight saving but still offers same level of protection.

No mention of missing rear panels so I've asked for further clarification.

Alloy Wheels

and I quote

"it is not possible for a customer to specify an option below standard specification.

When the trim levels were being considered, Skoda UK had to make a decision on what we thought the most popular and economically

viable options would be requested."

So there you go, it apparently costs less to specify 17" and 16" alloys are below specification anyway :wonder:

Gosh they are clutching at straws now to cover their own tracks - or justify the stupid decisions Margaret the tea lady in accounts came up with.

And of course they will never find out what people really want, as they don't ask us or give us the option.

The electric seat is a good example. I wanted it before I ordered my SM, but was told I couldn't have it, even though it is STD on all top spec models and I had it on my L&K before.

Since you posted the earth-shattering news that PAT is to be sold/got rid of/passed over I have been thinking, that as one of the originators of the SMOC and one of the sources of incredible help to all us Newbies out in YETIland, this forum ought to mark the occasion with some sort of ceremony.

I cannot imagine what sort of ceremony, but something to include a photo of the actual (very sad) hand over, and something that acknowledges the influence she has had on all of us.

What do you reckon, Tim?

Hi George,

yes she is one of the very first Monsters on the forum so, best take the camera with me this weekend then. Sadly I will be parting with her on Saturday emoticon-0106-crying.gif Then the endless wait for Monster III begins :S totally mad :giggle:

Will see if James is happy for a pic of a formal key handover or something of that nature if that suits.

Well after a 12 hour round trip down to see James at Allams by Monster and home on the train, tube, and two more trains, I'm now officially The Pedestrian

Thanks James for your hospitality and the rather exhilarating demo of a Fabia vRS B) and apologies for my rather tame in comparison return to the garage. Great fun; an excellent pocket rocket, however it's a long while since my youth and XR2's and XR3i's :giggle:

Also thanks for the spin in a Yeti 1.2TSI DSG; first time I've driven a petrol Monster and if I didn't want 4x4 then I think that could be the engine for me. Very nice to drive, accelerates well and the brakes come on a lot quicker than old PAT. Not sure if it's due to the lighter weight or they have upgraded the brakes. Did however notice a slight lag with the DSG but no real issue and kick down worked well if DSG has such a thing :wonder:

Now the wait for Monster III begins :)

May she rest in peace - and find another caring, knowledgable, loving owner who looks after her boots and skirts.

Thanks, TP, for taking the trouble to report back and for that brief mention of the Fabia and the 1.2 DSG (Encouraging, as it's what I'll order myself).

Good wishes and thanks for all the useful stuff posted on here.

I also took the Fabia vrs out on it's launch day. It was an absolute hoot. I couldn't stop laughing. Loved the paddle change for the gearbox. Couldn't live with it is my only car though. As a few have said. That engine in a Yeti......

Yes please! C'mon Skoda give us a fun 4X4 with some poke and a DSG box, without the DPF problems, for those of us who do a lot of short journeys.

Well, maybe not.

But put a littlecarrot replica over the Skoda emblem on the bonnet and call him Frosty the Snowman?

Only 110 - 'Pedestrian' sounds apt.:giggle: Not sure what that makes the 105's though.

I saw Pat today IN THE METAL!!! I went there with my partner to look into buying an Octavia Scout. AND we met the famous James! And made the mistake of sitting in a Superb. What a Superb car. But then it was a £29,000 example.

James IS famous emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

The Superb is.emoticon-0148-yes.gif

I originally went to Skoda because I wanted a Superb, but they don't yet do a, wait for it, diesel 4x4 DSG estate. Also it is nearly 600mm longer, which for driving around London is not so good for parking, even with Park Assist.

It was then that I found out I could have a diesel 4x4 DSG Yeti.emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Hope she's keeping well out there on Allams forcourt emoticon-0136-giggle.gif Shame no new owner has come forward yet emoticon-0101-sadsmile.gif

Anyway did you end up with a Superb 4x4, a Scout or maybe Monster's emoticon-0103-cool.gifemoticon-0140-rofl.gif

The fully loaded Superb on the floor was sold alas. And a Scout will only come in six months... and a two Yeti family is a bit daft in my book (not matter that with every car we consider the circle just points back at yes, another Yeti!).
