REmote keys

Featured Replies

I have recently got an Octavia I (1999) GLXi. I haven't any User manuals, so know nothing about car finer details. I got 2 manual keys with light built in, now I'm wondering if the car supports a remote key / fob. If it does what key will I need and how do I program it to the car. Also noticed a red LED flashing next to drivers door button (stopped working now), what is this?

Also what is the push-in button on the car light switch and rocker switch on drivers armrest?

If your car didnt come with remotes it probably didnt have them, if it didnt you cant retro fit them without a new control unit for the CDL, unless you go with an aftermarket system. The LED isnt for an alarm, you dont have one on the Mk1, its just there to show a complete lock. If its not flashing at all it could have fallen inside the door, become unplugged or be faulty. They stay illuminated if there is a fault on the system. The rocker switch in the drivers door is for the central door locking (which you can have without remotes) and if you have a knob in the main lights switch that pops out and turns its a rheostat for the instrument lighting, making it darker/lighter,
