front wishbone bush replacement

Featured Replies

how would you go about fitting the front bush back into the arm?

Didn't read your statement correctly, humble apologies.emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

What I refer to is the rear bush in the alloy rear wish-bone.

Look at following members sound advice for steel front wishbone bush fitment.

In situ, long threaded bolt 14 - 16mm diameter

4 nuts to screw onto threaded bolt

large / thick gauge washers bigger than bush outside diameter.

Place bush roughly into console opening, (note that bush flange face (if there is one) nearest the front of car)

Place bolt through bush

Place washers over each end.

Place nuts behind washers and tighten them up.

This will draw the new bush into the console housing.

If console has been removed from car.

Place bush and console into large steel vice and squeeze together, pushing bush into console housing.

There are photos on this site displaying exactly what is done.

Sadly the 'SEARCH' facility does not work like it used to, so cannot be readily used with ease.

If you mean the front wishbone front bush then you have two options :

1. Using an OEM bush - just add some grease and press it in using a vice or a G clamp.

2. Using powerflex bush - they are split ant push in from either side.

If you mean the front wishbone rear bush ( consol bush ) - then try as already stated.
