Octavia VRS Airbag fault codes

Featured Replies

Please can any one help me , i bought a light front damage 2002 Octavia VRS and have finally managed to get it all back together ,but the seatbelt light is lit up on the dash it was never lit up when the blown bags were still attached, it seems to have happened since both been replaced, i had a mechanic check the car and he came back to me with the following 5 codes

00595, 00588, 00589, 00532, 01299 i take these codes to be connected to the airbag system can anyone advise what the codes mean, also i notice a circular warning light has lit up on the dash would this be someting to do with tyres or traction control? Any help would be most appreciated.

Have you checked the seatbelt pretensionors?

Is it's a seat belt light or an airbag light?

The 2 air bag codes could be pointing to a bad connection to the air bag control unit.

Google the fault codes & you should find plenty of info.
