Got me a corking black Octv vrs 2001

Please can anyone send me pics of there front grilles in black please im debating whether to buy a different one or paint this one black?

pretty much, once you've got it off the car spin it over and you'll see it all clips together just be carefull not to break any clips/lugs when taking it to bits :thumbup:

i soaked my chrome bit in asda strong bleach for a couple of days to remove the chrome plating, then sanded, plastic primed and painted black :thumbup:

couple of days LOL i aint got that kinda patience , wana do it tomoz ! lol.....

lol, you can just sand it down and paint but i dnt no how long the paint will last. the chrome coating is a nightmare to get off i tried using a stanley knife and peeling it off but gave up with that, and bathed it in bleach :thumbup:

Or another option is Carbon Fibre Wrap...

PS is it just them 4 torx screws to take the whole thing off first ? .....my haynes etc hasnt arrived yet ?!

if I remember correctly, there are two metal brackets that need removing too... (think they have standard 10mm heads on them)

2 torx screws either side then 4 along the top edge. you dnt need to take the brackets off :thumbup:
