A Common Rail diesel gets the fuel to the egine via a different method from the PD (Pumpe Duse) engine that VAG used to use...

I only realised how much road noise there was when I swtiched from TDi to TSi - couldn't hear it in the TDi

Agreed - you can tell that best when you run off the old type motorway surface onto that new rubberised stuff and suddenly all goes silent.

All the noise is from the road and tyres.

TSi = Terrifically Superb Invention

Not that keen on face lift headlights though - prefer my old (wrinkled ??) ones !!!
