retro fitted rear parking sensors - no display on dash only sound

Featured Replies

Just got a Roomster 2, '58 plate secondhand from dealer - paid £240 for rear sensors to be fitted as an additional item.

The sesnsors beep but there's no display on the dash (the one that shows the little graphic/bars as you get closer to an object)

Is this the way it is with this vintage of Roomster or have they been fitted wrongly - any thoughts?

Wondering whether I've paid full price for a cheaper arrangement/option.

Thanks

Hi Chris

I have a 07 plate Roomie with factory fitted sensors. You are correct the sensors beep according to distance from rear object. The car icon and scrolling bars appear on the radio display (over-riding radio tuning info on screen).

Radio unit fitted is Dance.

Questions to ask dealer:

Is radio a 'Dance' model supplied with original car?

Is radio compatible with carcompatible with sensor units?

Are the sensors genuine Skoda units?

If the answers to these questions are 'yes' than I think there could be a wiring fault somewhere in connectors or wiring loom.

Hope this helps

Best regards

Scottie

If the Roomster is the same as the Octavia then you only get the ICE display with the factory fit parking sensors not with the dealer-fit after market ones.

It is possible to turn the Parking Sensor Radio display On and Off. I found out after my son was fiddling.

Press Menu and then the Bottom Right Screen option (>). You get to PDC On or Off. Press the button by PDC to toggle state.

Not sure what PDC stands for, is the P for Parking ?

PDC = parking distance control
