Couple of questions

Featured Replies

Hi

I got my Yeti a couple of weeks ago and I'm really enjoying it. I've had the "oh **** what's that smell?" experience when the DPF went in to its first cleaning cycle, that was fun.

I hadn't expected to have to spend quite so long poring over the owner's manual, though. Mind you, my last car was nearly eleven years old and my mobile phone had more computing power in it then the car did. Now the balance has definitely swung the other way!

There are a couple of things I haven't yet worked out, though, and I'm hoping that some of you who have become more familiar with your Yetis can help to end my confusion:

1) There is an option in the setup menu that doesn't seem to be covered in the manual. It's called something like "comf. indic". As far as I can see, if it's switched on then a quick flick of the indicator stalk results in three flashes of the indicator rather than just one. I've turned it off, because I kept finding myself 30 yards down the road still indicating and with no obvious way to stop it. It seems to have managed to turn itself on again a couple of times though. Can anyone shed any more light on this function?

2) What are the buttons next to the rev counter and the speedo, at the half-past-seven and half-past-four positions respectively, supposed to do? On my car all the left-hand one seems to do is to activate the clock adjustment, while the right-hand one resets the trip distance. The manual seems to suggest that they do other stuff as well but a bout of assiduous fiddling found no way to get them to do anything else.

TIA!

3x turning idnicator is very usefull to me, all I have to do is touch the lever and it will flash 3 times in that direction.

I find 3x flash is more safe than 1x flash :)

The Buttons next to the rev and speedo reset the trip to zero and also set the clock in the MD display.

Not sure about the comfort indicator - if in doubt, try it out - you won't bust anything.

The comfort indicator (weird name, eh?) sets the turn indicators to blink three times if you just tap it. Very useful for changing lanes on the motorway.

The buttons under the big dials work as follows:

The right one re-sets the trip counter.

The left one is used to change the time clock in the multi-display. When pushed, it activates the right one to make the changes.

Additional cmment: So it is on a LHD car. In the UK, it might be reversed?

Nope, same on RHD.

By the way, in case you hadn't noticed any changes you make with Maxidot have to be done with both sets of keys. It threw us for a while after I'd changed things to suit us both, then the other person got in with their keys and everything was as before. Good system though, you can have individual settings if you want.

That would explain why I had to reset the "comf. indic" twice, then. Thanks for the tip!
