Do you use the gear stick and clutch

I've not tried using the gear shift on mine yet - I have enough trouble as it is.

My current car of choice is a 400-ish bhp mid 90s RX7 with racing tyres and a nice big rear wing.

Very quick without being too hard to control.

I made the mistake of taking my Gallardo up to about 700bhp and reducing the weight a lot without doing anything about the grip and it's all over the place, even when braking in a straight line.

From what I've read you gotta be aryton senna on the clutch and stick otherwise its a mare to handle

I set off using gearstick n clutch, and I had the steering wheel set up on Simulation mode. You really have to bang the gears in place, or else it leaves you hanging in neutral a lot. So I've admitted defeat and I'm using the flappy paddles now. Can't seem to find reverse though.

Also after much spinning off and tank slapping on the straights I've swapped the steering back to amateur. Lol

I get on a lot better with the wheel than I do with the joypad.

I ain't had chance to play in days the tellybox in our hoose is consumed with Mickey mouse and special agent oso all day and by the night its Eastenders and other such ****e.

We'll have to set up a room called Briskoda (or something less offensive) and we can all jump in then.

Royston - if you have space and a bit of spare time, get a wood working bench (those fold-able ones for £10-20 from asda or screwfix etc) and hack up a more ergonomic set up, you'll look a bit silly in it but once you get over that it makes it 100 times more enjoyable .

~ chop the legs shorter on one end so it tilts towards you (this makes the wheel at vertical angle)

~ plank of wood on the back face of the unit, as its tilted with a greater angle now it is near perfect to mount the pedals upside-down (so it feels more like normal cars), you can dismantle pedals and switch them upside down. Whilst your at it, you can set the angles of the pedals so that brake and clutch is higher than the accelerator using washers.

~ extra plank of wood for gear stick to stick out, job done

I was sad enough to stumbled onto a GT5 forum and they had a challenge called "Top gear challenge 1": see if you can beat a stock evo X laptime on top gear track with Renault aventtime car + 15k for mods (just like on top gear).

Doesn't take too much space when folded. However I didnt take into the account of putting it in the car so its at an awkward shape for the fabia... :|

Anyho, does the job, can sit on the sofa to play, can put away when bored, doesn't cost £200+ like those other ones.

What races you been doing in A-Spec to bump up your level? I'm level 23 but have been for a good while. I'm stuck at the moment. Not enough money to get certain cars for races.

GT5 is GT4 with better graphics. Awful A.I on the other cars. I had a go the other day racing a lotus elise around the top gear track going for the overtake challenge, and came first on my second run.

You can only change wheels etc on new cars(dealership) Only get in car view on dealership cars.

I'm so glad to get back on forza.
