Folding Door Mirrors - Yeti.

Featured Replies

It was my understanding that you could, starting quite recently, order electrically folding mirrors. I then recently believed that it was an option only on Elegance and formed part of the £500 electric seat option. It is now my firm understanding that you CAN NOT order them at all... full stop. This info. via my supplying dealer, in turn from SUK...at my request. Strangely I thought I'd seen it on the Skoda configurator, but looking again tonight, I must have been mistaken as it's not there..........the £500 elec. seat option is there, but no folding mirrors....they do everything else, but don't electrically fold. Yet when I rang SUK yesterday they said it WAS an option on the Elegance....but I'm learning not to take too much notice of what they say and on reflection guess they misunderstood the word 'folding'...perhaps for 'dimming'?

So, does anyone know any different - or have it in writing that they're actually getting them?

The DtD site shows the £500 seat option but just says 'electric seat and mirror pack' and doesn't, seemingly correctly, say 'folding'.

  • I find your arrogance unbelievable. Because you do not want or need them we should all just move on. People here have paid good money for functionality they will not receive. Seemingly you have fixed

Can anyone understand my dilemma? My supplying dealer tells me what I've detailed in my earlier post. It's not shown on the SUK website. Rockhopper tells me he's got them on order ( was it available on Elegance only to the best of your knowledge?). I haven't got a part number for them. Skoda tell me yes they are (on Elegance only) and my supplying dealer says they're not because that's what SUK told him. A local dealer to me also rang SUK for me and was told they ARE available on Elegance only.

I say again, I'm confused

Configurator says:

"Electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors with auto dimming, memory function and boarding-spots

The door mirrors can be electrically adjusted or folded in when parked, to avoid any knocks of scrapes.

Does it say that there is a motor to fold the mirrors in? The auto dimming and memory function come with the memories on the electrically adjustable seats. The rest is standard. I find it no problem to flick the mirrors in when I have parked so do not see the need for yet another bit of gimmicry.

I was also told only a week ago that the electric seat option (with electrically folding mirrors) was not available. I contacted SUK to be told that the option had been added since the publication of the current brochure. My dealer now agrees that the option can be added to my existing order and is in the process of asking SUK to add it. I am assuming that this will be done, though at the cost of £50 'admininstration fee' from the dealer. :S

What? Some dealer!! I ordered several extras late on, and our dealer did it for free as I would expect, and threw in free rubber mats and free fitted mud flaps. Tony

I must agree emoticon-0149-no.gif to that dealer charging you. I changed my order several times with James at Allams and he never charged me either.

Also, the dealer as far as I'm aware changes the order on the system, not SUK. But I could be wrong.

James will elaborate more, but dealers need an option code to put next to something at order time. Some are lazy and have not sold enough cars and thus don't have the latest codes. When I phoned the Drivethedeal dealer she had just been inundated with people (from here I suspect!) adding the option so she luckily had the correct TWO option codes at hand. You cannot order this with just the seat code. The system will reject it. And that is what has happened to some dealers I suspect. They have to add the £500 seat and the £0 electric mirror option together before the system accepts it.

My understanding has never been that this is only for Elegance spec. Not sure where that rumour came from. It is standard on the equivalent to Elegance spec in Europe, but in the UK you should be able to order these options on any model bar the E - to which you cannot add any options.

I'm sure if you ask James kindly he will give you the option codes for both so you can be armed when you finally order your car oldstan. If not I suggest you go and order your car from James!!! You won't regret it.

Looking at the configurator on the Skoda website today you can only specify the £500 seats/mirrors option on Elegance. The options don't appear on lesser spec. Certainly the mirrors fold... but do they fold electrically? This is what I've asked the two dealers and Skoda UK. SUK are looking in to it and will come back to me and my supplying dealer has been told they don't electrically fold

Read the configurator again?

Electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors with auto dimming, memory function and boarding-spots The door mirrors can be electrically adjusted or folded in when parked, to avoid any knocks of scrapes.

I read that as 'electrically .....folded in'?

Somebody must have taken delivery by now with this option? (I know several of us plumped for this as soon as it was announced)

I suspect their will be a lot of very angry customers demanding a degree of refund if they turn out to not be electrically operated. It is truly terrible wording if they are not powered. Why would they even mention it if not?

It is a pity that the Yeti online manuals are still stuck in the June 2010 version... So there is no update on them to reflect how this mirror will work. Hence me previously finding it in the Superb brochure. Be that as it may someone has taken delivery and it is in this thread:

http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/179811-meet-roxy/

But after I explained to Mr.P how I understand the mirrors to work he has yet to come back and inform us how they actually work! Maybe give him a nudge oldstan?

Thanks...............but I'm obviously looking in the wrong place (as was the lady at Customer Services) I (we) went to 'build your own Skoda' on their website. Where are you looking?

oldstan you can also click on the pinned Yeti Options survey at the top of the forum. Next to each option there is a link to click on called "View". That will show you exactly who has which options on their cars and thus you can contact them directly. This is one of the main reasons I did that thread - to find people to ask things from!

You are in the right place, you need to look at the narrative box on the right hand side when you select the mirrors option. However the description is ambiguous.

My understanding based on another thread on this forum, is that if you press the lock button on your remote control key, and hold it for two seconds, the windows will all shut and the door mirrors will fold in (by themselves)

They can also be electrically folded in at less than 15km/h by putting the door mirror switch in the correct position.

I'll find out on Saturday when I pick mine up :giggle:

You could say that.

The configurator's Elegance options allow you to select " Electrically adjustable & heated door mirrors with auto dimming, memory function and boarding-spots" allowing you to select it at the total cost of ZERO pounds !!

Am I missing something since I take this to be standard and not optional :o

That means the GLASS is electrically adjustable.

The £500 option allows you to electrically fold the ENTIRE MIRROR towards the car.

From the Superb manual:

Just remember as stated before the Superb brochure is WRONG. You press the LOCK button and not the unlock button.

It's not standard, it is an option but ONLY available if you purchase electric seats at £500. Hence it shows £0 for the mirrors.

NO! Guys you are starting to confuse things here.

"Electrically adjustable & heated door mirrors with boarding-spots" comes as standard on any Elegance and thus the cost = £0

Electrically folding mirrors only comes as part of a pack of which one half is a £500 electric seat and the other part is a £0 Folding electric mirror.

So

Standard Elegance electically adjustable glass mirror - £0

Optional folding mirror with memory function and dimming - £0

But ONLY if you also order

Electric driver's seat - £500

Edit: took out the "memory fucntion and dimming" from the standard Elegance spec. Apologies for confusion.

Thanks all and also to 900000. I see the clip above but it does relate to Superb, of course. I still haven't seen firm evidence from Skoda, or anywhere else that they fold electrically. I still can't see anything telling me that the £500 seat/mirror option is available on anything other than Elegance

I'm expecting to order a Yeti very soon and would love to know for sure what's what before ordering.....

So what do you get standard with the Elegance door mirrors ?

Davehutch, please come back to this thread when you pick your SM up to confirm that the mirrors are electrically folding. I am beginning to have my doubts. They certainly will have a memory function to match the seats and they will fold but I'm not now so sure they will fold electrically. The configurator comment can be read in two ways.
