Folding Door Mirrors - Yeti.

Featured Replies

They should rename the title in configurator.

Elec. folding mirrors is more valuable option than dimming, AFAIK.

Btw, in Serbian configurator, after selecting elec. seats, You have 2 options to choose from:

1. Elec. memory mirrors... with dimming.

2. Elec. memory mirros... without dimming.

I checked the one without....

On the UK version I think you can turn it off if you don't want it on. On my Octavia L&K there was a button on the mirror you could push which turned off the auto dipping/darkening of the mirrors. I found them very good. I was doing about 30,000 miles a year, and about 2/3 of that was at night.

  • I find your arrogance unbelievable. Because you do not want or need them we should all just move on. People here have paid good money for functionality they will not receive. Seemingly you have fixed

Errr... my Yeti is the 170TDi Elegance - it doesn't have the electric drivers seat/electric folding mirrors (it was made before that was even an option), but it definately does have dimming external mirrors as well as the interior one.

Same model: I'm pretty sure my wing mirrors dim as well as the interior. I'll have a better look next night drive.........

Just the interior and driver's side mirrors auto dip. This feature is not part of the passenger side door mirror.

Im sure my driver side mirror auto dims with the interior one - I assumed this was standard for the Elegance as it wasnt an option that I paid for.

Now I'm confused. I need to wait until a Yeti with the electric drivers seat pack turns up.

Or if someone on here has got theirs already can you take a photo of your door mirror glass please.

To quote the wonderful manual:

Automatic dimming exterior mirror*

The exterior mirror on the driver's side is dimmed together with the interior mirror. If the automatic dimming is switched on, the mirror dims automatically depending on the light striking the mirror from the rear.

When the interior lights are switched on or the reverse gear is engaged, the mirror always moves back into the basic position (not dimmed).

That is correct Mike, BUT that little asterix next to that means it could be an option in some markets or on some models. I've always been under the impression that all Elegance models have this standard even though no brochure or website ever mentions it.

Thats right. I checked the brochure before posting my above post and it is not mentioned.....like a lots of stuff that it standard on the elegances we have seen on the forum.

I hope the power fold mirror option has both exterior mirrors auto dimmed. I never saw the point of only one, other than the bean counters at it again - my L&K dimmed both.

The Elegance dual tone horn also does not get a mention either, or the under seat drawer, or from what level you get the dash top storage lid, the horizontal boot rails with bag hooks or the cupholders and armrests in the middle rear seat. Just typical SUK to confuse buyers and dealers alike. And so easily solved.

My car vauxhall insignia elite (which I don't like) and why I'm looking on here daily considering the yeti.

I have the electric drivers seat which is standard, certainly wouldn't pay £500 as an extra, but I would think if someone had back problems then it maybe the cost is justified for the range of adjustment provided.

The mirrors I can fold both manually in the car or by the remote locking but unfortunately all the windows start to openwhen using the remote!. Previous car to that was a Citroen C4 picasso which mirrors did fold in when locking so when walking away if the mirrors were folded in the car was locked.

For the sake of continuity dare I suggest readers now go to the other topic by James of Allams entitled - "ANYONE GOT A YETI WITH ELECTRIC DRIVING SEAT" in which updated information is given which indicates that the mirrors DO NOT fold electrically.

Some have contacted, or will contact, Skoda and /or their dealers to discuss their purchase of the £500 seat/mirror option, others aren't too concerned and will live without the electrically folding aspect of the pack.

My order from James states "electric memory drivers seat with electric folding mirrors".

Mike

My copy of the order from the dealer states 'elect drivers seat with folding door mirrors'

I have written to Skoda so will let you know what response I get.

I think we all know the answer you'll get! If they are not producing foldys on the Yeti you will not get them whatever your invoice says :'(

Good - look forward to hearing what you are told. See the new thread I started 'Going to the top' where messages to/from SUK are being gathered together.

So according to my reading of the specification that is correct, in that it doesn't specify ELECTRICALLY folding.

Graham, you've highlighted that one particular line and interpreted it in the way you have, and have done so a couple of times before, which is fair enough, but why not also highlight the line by rockhopper...."My order from James states "electric memory drivers seat with electric folding mirrors"....which was posted just a short way before it? Sort of sounds a bit like leaning towards SUK's defence when clearly there are bods here who have ordered in good faith having been assured that they will get what they were being promised? And the deletion within the last 24 hours of that, somewhat tenuous, line in the configurator indicates to me that they are aware of it's potential to mislead.

Will this thread ever end? Why is this such an issue with some people claiming that electrically folding of the door mirrors is make or break over ordering a Yeti. May I suggest you get a life.

My mirrors fold - I just stick my hand out of the window and fold them in.

You don't have to view the posts though, Terfyn, just ignore them. The suggestion to get a life isn't particularly polite if you've spent £500 on something that you order and don't get.

But if this topic is perceived to have run it's course then I'll be happy to let it drop. Others will say so perhaps, but hopefully politely....

In fairness if the line in the invoice says electric seats and (simply) folding mirrors then there probably isn't a leg to stand on. The beef is with SUK and their incredible misleading configurator comments, now removed.

 The length of this thread is a measurement of the feeling on the subject. You know what the subject is Terfyn, so simply do not bother reading it, easy. Personally I will continue to complete the deal because the car is so good but paying for something you're not going to receive leaves a bitter taste. What's next, Skoda allowing the option of a sunroof again for £870 but forgetting that the new one doesn't open and telling customers 'tough' when the car arrives?

Aye, the "get a life" bit is a bit rich I have to say. £500 is nothing to be sniffed at to then not get what was advertised. But you are also right. We are all bit lazy and could just do it manually!

The configurator seems a bit off beam anyway having spent over an hour today with the dealer going through the spec of my wife's Fabia his view was ignore the configurator and go by the brochure - not too sure about that either!!!

I had electric memory seats that were linked to the keys and folding mirrors on my last car the mirrors were great and programmed to fold in when you locked the car but the seats - never again I'm 6' 4" and my wife 5' 4" every-time she got to the car first it re adjusted the seat up and forwards so I had to press the memory button back to my setting before I could get in - fantastic when it's teaming with rain!

One point on the folding mirrors if you manually fold the mirrors they actually hit against the side window and won't fold in flat, maybe that's the problem Skoda have encountered and backtracked on the folding bit.

You have to set up each key individually, a his 6'4" key and a hers 5'4" key. Then when you open using your key it goes to your settings, not 'er indoors settings. emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

The point is - did it even exist in the first place. Or was it just sloppy English in the advertising? Anyway I'm sure your £500 was well spent on the electric seats etc.

I was under the impression that I had Blutooth on my Bolero radio from the advertising blurb - it was only later that I was told that, for an extra £300, I needed a new steering wheel and the bits that made BT work.
