my second car, top of the range Primera, xenons, leather - (didn't look like this when I first got it, spent thousands on it - was one of the fastest NA primeras)

I'd be disgusted if I had all those Citroens in my list too! :p and skint!

Well in all honesty, apart from the absolute and ultimate nightmare on wheels , being the C4, they were all absolutely fine, reliable, economical and comfortable.

Still got the AX GT. Had it for 13 years now, and it has given me much pleasure and success on the tracks and hillclimbs.

The Visa GTi was an absolute riot to drive too. Wish I'd kept it now, as according to the Citroen owners club, there are only 14 of them left in the UK

From 1977:

Ford Capri MK1 1600 - what a mistake

Opel Rekord 1900 estate - like a big green bus

Vauxhall Cavalier MK1 1600 saloon - ex company car, and the only car I have ever made a profit on

Opel Rekord 2000 saloon - nice motor with blue velor seats - also a 1/2 share in a Jago Jeep kit car during this period which we built ourselves :)

Vauxall Astra 1300 estate - bought from an ex-bombsite car lot and had been clocked

Austin Metro 1000 - so basic I am surprised it had passenger seats

Vauxhall Nova 1000 - up to now my only brand new car.

Rover 1.6 VDP - bad move in hindsight

Landrover SWB Series 2A - great fun but totally uneconomical

Subaru 1.8 4WD estate - good car but the price of spares frightened me to death

Ford Transit 2.5 DI - probably the best vehicle I ever owned, did everything and went everywhere - but am now slightly deaf on account of it.

Montego 2000 Turbo diesel estate - Blown head gasket, marooned in Watford for three weeks - say no more :)

Toyota Carina 1.8 Hatchback - lovely

Toyota Avensis 1.6 Saloon - Cheap, reliable and still going strong after eight years of abuse

Skoda Fabia 1.6TDI 105bhp Elegance Estate - From tomorrow! Yaaay!!!!!

I got a full list on another post somewhere, here are the ones I have photos of. In no particular order.

Oh yes. That's another one I forgot to add to my embarrasing list too! :)

Did yours visibly rust and disintigrate before you eyes too Chris?

Just how comfy though ey? Unbelievably so.

Changing the plugs was a bit of a 'mare though iirc.

Here is my car history...

First car, 1980 Mini 998cc roof chopped. I had a new roof custom made, new Cobra upholstery, new dashboard, new stereo, new chrome work, new head gasket, head reworked, electronic ignition, stage 1 kit. It was a wreck when I bought it! Made a nice profit! :)

DCP04703.jpg

Then I had my Cooper, 1275 on a carb. I bought this as a write off, gutted from a fire due to dodgy wiring. Stripped the car, had it resprayed, all new chrome work, new interior, removed the engine and cleaned and painted it. Left the engine standard except for a K&N filter. Again, sold it for a good profit.

COOPER%202.jpg

COOPER%207.jpg

COOPER%2010.jpg

I then bought a mk4 VW Golf 1.6 SE which was so boring it was barely worth mentioning!!

Next was one of my favorite cars, Gen 7 Celica, it was great, especially as I was only 19.

DSCN3659.jpg

DSCN3669.jpg

Next up was this Vauxhall Astra Convertible. I wanted a convertible but wanted 4 seats. It was ok, but not that reliable and a bit boring.

DSC_5247.jpg

DSC_5248%20%281%29.jpg

Then I went back to rebuilding damaged cars and my father and I rebuilt a few VX220's including these:

DSCN4682.jpg

DSCN4690.jpg

DSC_2105.jpg

DSC_0827.jpg

DSCN4937.jpg

Each of these I drove around whilst I was at uni and were awesome cars. They have a really good owners club and following and I loved the fact that so few people knew what they were! I was always getting asked if the yellow car was a Lamborghini or Ferrari! :)

I then went a bit practical and bought an Audi S4 when I was 23. Loved the car, loved the power and pull of the twin turbos and the practicality of it! I used it for lots of camping trips and for towing my boat around. Made a profit on this car after running it for a year!

20090821_104256.jpg

20090726_115818.jpg

20090726_115752.jpg

I then fancied a blue one! This was slightly modified, running about 330-340hp, 19" wheels, coilovers, RS4 brakes, grille and spoiler

2009-10-26%20at%2014-53-04.jpg

DSC_0621%20%284%29.jpg

2010-04-17%20at%2016-42-19.jpg

Unfortunately running costs were getting a bit high and it got to the point where it needed quite a bit of money spending on it, so I sold it for what I paid for it a year later and at the age of 25 I've now bought a Skoda Octavia VRS TDI

2010-11-06%20at%2015-24-13.jpg

I've only had the car a couple of weeks so I've not had a chance to get any good photos of it yet!

I've got hundreds of photos of all the other cars in various states of repair (including the rebuilds for the Mini's and VX220's if anyone is interested).

Comments welcome as always.
