Help With vRS Mods...

Featured Replies

Hey guys!

I need a little help with my newly acquired vRS.

It has a few mods, and although it seems to be running sweet now, I'm wondering if there's anything I should be watching out for.

  • Remapped to 225bhp
  • A Forge diverter valve
  • A Carbon fibre induction kit
  • A full Miltec exhaust from the turbo
  • Drilled disks
  • Braided brake lines

Thanks for the help.

is that what you got is it bud

Yeah, that's the mods the previous owner did to it.

What is a diverter valve anyway?

Dump valve, releases the pressure from the turbo back into the air box when you change gear or lift off accelerator etc. Helps protect the turbo from reverse spinning.

Excellent. Thank you.

So, is there anything I need to watch out for? Will the car be more unreliable due to the mods?

We won't be driving hard. We're not young hooligans

Well...overtaking is fun. Lot's of fun!

First time I floored it past a car, I imagine the shaking heads and tut tut's in the car I was passing. :D

By the way...the mk1 vrs has a DMF, right? Are these prone to failure, or is just the oil burners?

If they do fail, can they take a SMF? And are there uprated kits that are a better choice?

(I probably should be asking that in another thread)
