Shark STS

Featured Replies

HI all, just got a couple of questions regarding the shark Self Tuning System.....

Can this unit if purchased second hand be used directly on another vehicle?

Basically if i buy an STS second hand can i just plug it in and away i go?

Thanks

I dont believe you can, I think there is something to do with the Immobiliser/Clocks/ECU being coded together but I am sure Ben will be along at some point to confirm

I asked Ben this when I bought mine.

Basically the map loaded onto it is specific for the original car, and won't work on anything else.

If you want to use it on a different car, you'll have to pay for a new map from Shark.

Oh ok thanks guys ill scrub that idea then

The STS itself is quite a neat bit of kit. And Ben can do you a remap over the internet/telephone once you have the STS. It's got to be worth a chat.

the STS can be reused on another vehicle but prior to that it needs to be wiped (this involves putting the std map back onthe car, and removing the performance map) Then the new buyer can reset it and buy a new map for his vehicle off ben, obviously minus the cst of the STS handset (@£150)

timmy bought mine, just before that huge offer shark performance did a while back.
