Bolero radio removal

Featured Replies

I have bought a fiscon bluetooth car kit for my 2010 skoda superb. However removing the trim to remove the radio is not as obvious as for the octavia.

Can anyone help as I can't find any ref to this on the web. The car has the bolero system fitted.

I don't know if this helps but here is my link to removing the Bolereo Radio in a Yeti:

Removing the Bolero Radio

I did this so that it might help others doing something similar. I hope it helps. let me know?

I have posted it in the "Skoda Yeti Technical Guides" section so you will be able to find it again if needed.......................Good Luck and best wishes.....

Thanks for the link, there are similarities between Yeti Bolero (great car by the way) & supurb, the surrounds are different, but did help.

Fiscon kit works great, better than expected.

I will try to put a picture of removal soon, but if anyone needs to know how its done just drop me a line.

Thanks again to the great Yeti.

If it's the same system VW use, all you do is lever the trim away carefully, and then undo the 4 torx that hold the Bolly in, do not undo the airbag warning light wire if there is one there, or it's a Vag-Com to turn it off again. hth.

Well, how will you remove the radio if you don't disconnect airbag light connector?

It is possible, because you can remove the surrounding from the upper side and turn it down so that the lower side is still in place and the radio can be removed. Done that many times....

Smart move. Though it can only work when changing Bolero to Columbus (of course this thread focus is on that combination) because they use same fascia. I tried Swing to Columbus and all sorts of problems.. First, Swing is bigger and don't use any plastic surround, so you have to disconnect "Passenger airbag OFF" plug to take the Swing radio out. I red somewhere that you need to disconnect the battery before unplugging the thing but it didn't work. I got Airbag error. Secondly, the plastic mask (fascia) that I ordered for Columbus fitting came with a hole where "Passenger airbag OFF" module (or whatever it is) should be. So now, I have nothing to connect the connector into, and I have a little hole under the Columbus. Of course I still have Airbag warning light and error sound. I plan going to Skoda workshop to delete errors, but I wonder will the error return and will pass. airbag function normally.

Any clues guys?

Disregard, I got my answer.
