metal scraping/grinding sound

Featured Replies

i hear a metal scraping sound when i'm reversing with full lock right on (only started happening since the car got lowered).

took the wheel off and noticed the alloy was marked around the inner lip was wondering what could cause this to happen?

it doesn't happen when on full lock left.

any ideas?

cheers in advance

going to get a set of wheel spacers any way but thought it was just a bit strange it was just the one side.

What wheels and offset??

Strange it only happens in reverse on full lock, my mates focus makes a noise like this in reverse on full lock but it's his mud flaps, but as you've said the wheel is scored, which means what ever it's been scraping should also be scraped/worn...

didn't have to good a look as it was getting dark last night. going to have another look today and try and see what it is hitting.

they are audi tt six spokes think they are et32.

had a look and i can't see where it is scraping. there are no shiny or scuff marks any where.

got this sorted now. put the car in for a service last night and told the mechanic about the noise.

picked it up today and found out it was caused by a knackered drop link.

no nasty scraping noise on full lock now. :) but spacers still getting bought for the wide look.
