Yes I completely agree, I got a job at a local Suzuki dealer a few years back & taking a Jimny to another dealer nearby was why I left the job after 3 days  horrendous to drive on road in every way.

Don't suppose you really ever had time to try one OFF ROAD then ey?

Absolutely stunning.

Granted mine's got a lift and proper tyres for the job, but I've seen LR owners squirming with shock and embarrasment when they see where it can go. :D

Half the width and half the weight does help mind.

I've been out with a few friends who are into the whole of road scene...couple have tricked up Defenders and the other 2 have an SJ & a Jimny..far from standard obviously, but competent nonetheless B)

Ahhh, SJ40.

One for sale on Pistonheads.

Minter and low mileage, with a price to match!

If you find out this person is from the northern edge of Dartmoor, I'm out that way tomorroe visiting the old man, so can go and deal out some slaps if needed :D

Any chance of a definitive reply PLEASE, so I can either hold on to it for you, or try advertising it elsewhere.

I really would appreciate a straightforward yes or no asap.

I think I've been very reasonable honest and straight with you, so a reply to get me out of the dark would be fair I feel, don't you?

Thank you,

Well that was my last polite e mail to Mr Ditherer, sent at 9am this morning.

The response?

Stuff him.

If you can round up all the Petes out there, you'll have the plank. :S

Be cautious of dealing in pub carparks. Good chance of losing the car then being mugged for the cash, and in some cases I've heard of your car as well!

It's just as bad trying to buy lol

Peoples versions of excellent condition seem to differ from mine

Oh, I'd have 'THE BOYS' with me.

This plank may have done me a favour now actually.

Off to the Grizedale Stages rally next Friday for the weekend, and snow is forecast for mid week.

Post Office for road tax renewal will be beckoning on Wednesday p'raps?

One things for sure Matty, that was the last time I'll be helpful polite and reasonable tring to sell this car.

Couldn't / wouldn't even muster the decency to send me a quick email saying sorry, but no thanks. Changed my mind.

I'll be taking it back to where I bought it from in a couple of weeks if it isn't sold.

Stand to lose quite a bit but better that than lose my mind dealing with balloon headed dreamers. :x

What region are you selling Toyotas then fellah?

Damned hard graft, especially from now until mid Jan.

I do work for two main Toyota dealerships around here, and have the Deeside engine factory just 5 miles away too.

I'm up in Cumbria at Carlisle. Your right it's gonna be a long hard time for a while. Getting my holidays in now so it's not too bad. I've not been down to deeside but I've been to the factory which was pretty cool. Not looking forward to next year, 20% VAT is gonna make the job even more challenging lol

Been discussing that very subject with sales staff at the garages I visit, and the general feeling is that it won't actually affect sales that much...they reckon.

S'pose it's a bit like the cost of fuel really. We all initially go nuts when it goes up in price, but it's amazing how quickly we just get used to and accept it.

Regardless what some may say, cars ARE a necessity for most people, and thet'll get one even if it means making other sacrifices.

Well well well.

Finally heard from my dear friend / enquirer.

Sent me a nice email this afternoon, no message as such, just a bloody link to a Canadian medical outlet website selling Viagra.

Update on this.

I've just received a telephone call from this guy, profoundly apologetic following my 'no punches held back' email to him in reply to the spam.

It seems his email account has been hacked into today and this spam was sent to all of his contacts, including his boss and wife who works in Dartmoor prison.

He came home to approx 50 ranting emails from said contacts including mine.

He still wants the car and has offered to pay £100 into a Pay Pal account.......that I haven't actually got

Well after 3 long weary weeks, the Jimny has finally gone to its new home in Dartmoor.

I do actually feel extremely sad about it now, :'( and after nearly 4 years of ownership will miss its absolutely stunning and amazing off road capabilities that had many L.R owners opened mouthed in amazement regarding it's abilty to go places that many Disco's etc would fear to tread.

For those that live down that neck of the woods, keep an eye out for the 54 plated red raised big winged Jimny down there in Buckland in the Moor Newton Abbot for me please.

Gone but not forgotten, and thanks for all the fun and memories.

Feel like I've lost a long standing girfriend almost.

Just HOW sad is THAT ey?

So Mr Dartmoor man came through in the end, then. Good news I suppose.

I have to agree with you there buddy, I also find that the better the car and the harder you try to get the advert perfect the longer it takes to sell.

My corsa was completely immaculate rolls of reciepts from new never been crashed polished to death, and it took weeks upon weeks to sell, I got a shed of a Ibiza Cupra sproused it up here and there and sold it within two days, depressing really.

Time wasters are the things I really hate, if your not coming please just let me know so i dont sit in for you!

Yup. Wearing gloves and flippers. :o

D'ya reckon he was trying to hide something? :D

Anyway, he's just this minute rung me to say how pleased he is with it.

I thought he was going to tell me that it had blown up on the way down there! :o

You live near there btw Jason?
