Wheel spacers...

Featured Replies

Bought a set of 9mm "universal" off t'bay, along with longer 35mm bolts, just to push the wheels out a wee bit in conjunction with lowering. Tried them for a day or two & took 'em off-bad vibrations! Are these universal things (not "hubcentric") carp or am I doing summat wrong? I did make sure they were centred when fitting...

As the sprout says, you will need hubcentric, I had 15mm on the rear of mine for about an hour, but took them off as I felt the wheels stuck out to far. I may still add 9-10mm though.

Aye- don't want to go more than 10mm myself-9mm looked good, but was on the limit at the front! Hubcentric are bl00dee dear, although at least I have the bolts now :wonder: Awesome have some Eibach 8mm ones (each side) @ £39 a pair...

I have Eibach 15mm ones - they're great. As above - I wouldn't go over 10mm on the front.

What are the offsets on your BBS's Nick?

My BBSs are 8J ET43 - I don't run spacers with them. I ran the 15mm spacers on the rear with Zeniths. I ought to sell them really.

Is that a hint? :giggle: PM me if you are...

BBS's look mint-I actually thought you had the spacers on those 'cos of the stance

can you put spacers on just the rear wheels on a standard vRS Octavia? where do you buy them from?

Thanks.

Yep-buy 'em from eBay/Awesome GTI etc..loads of different thicknesses. As mentioned above, make sure they are "hubcentric" ones. You will also need longer bolts.

IMO if you are fitting a 15mm set to the rear I would add a set of 8-10mm at the front, when I just did the rears the stance looked very.........odd!

In the new year I will be fitting 8mm spacers to the rear, I think it will be just enough.

Still can't find any reasonably priced hubcentric 10mm ones though?

Where have you seen 8mm hubcentric? It was 8mm that I had & were the cr4ppy universal items, but the look was spot on on the front. Have just got the car lowered today & sorely needs spacers now IMO.

pics! was considering a set of 5mm or 8mm for the rear wheels to bring them out a little, they seem inset compared to the front....

Finally have a delivery date for the Octy vRS of 20th December. Nice Christmas present! I am planning the OEM Eibach drop but am concerned about losing the wheels into the arches. Do both front and back look recessed or only on the back following a drop? If so is 8mm as discussed above enough to push them out with standard 18" Neptunes?

I think you'll need more at the back-15mm seem about right. As Nick said, I wouldn't go more than 10mm on the fronts.

Thanks VRS, perhaps 15mm on the back and 8mm on the front then. Presume Eibach do specific sets for the vRS in these sizes?

UPDATE: have just had a reply from an eBay seller saying that he had stopped supplying 8 & 10mm because of lots of problems with hub locators cracking. He claims Eibach & H&R have stopped making them too...Oooer.. :S

As regards what will fit-any hubcentric set with a PCD of 5x112, e.g. Octavia II/Golf V/Leon II etc.

That sits perfect Sprout. Is that a 15mm spacer on OEM wheels or something else?

Thanks you've just cost me more money :giggle: Is your Octy dropped at all?

Did you make any adjustment with spacers to the fronts?
