Beam Deflectors

Featured Replies

I'm having my Superb S delivered in the new year. I do a lot of driving on the continent and want to know what to do about the headlights. I won't have the travel mode on the Superb S so presumably need beam deflectors. Can you get removable ones that can be re-used or do I need to buy a new set each time?

To change the headlights should be as simple as moving a small lever in the headlamp unit (accessed after removing the lgiht unit)

If I were you I'd have my local dealer show me exactly how to change them over, upon delivery.

Then you won't need to worry about stickers and whatnot.

According to posts on other forums this takes max 5 minutes if you've done it before.. upto 30min if it's your first time

edit: check this thread for more info

Thanks,

I'm taking my Superb 2 abroad shortly - has anyone with standard (Non Xenon) headlights on an S or Greenline found this lever?

No - but would interested to find out.

You need to remove the lamp, and the back cover. you should see the lever then.

I have an SE and have worked out the headlights!! It's very easy - 30 secs at most :))

Take the rubber dust cover off the back of the headlight - there are three, one for each of sidelight, headlight and main beam so make sure you have the right one.

Without taking the lamp or anything out, reach in with your fingers and to the right (looking at the front of the car) of the lamp holder, on the side of it, there is a fairly thin metal lever. Push this down. It should make a definite click and feel like it's moved to a new position.

You need to do this on both sides.

The result should be a flat beam, without the two little kicks to light up the verge. Best way to check is against a wall in the dark.

I hope this makes sense? If you stick your fingers in, it should become obvious. With a mirror and a torch you might be able to see what you're looking for.

cheers

Kevin

Hi,

I've just aquired a 2014 facelift Superb (its's great )and I can't find the lever. I wonder if it has changed on this model

Anyone converted a later one?

John..

Which model, if you have maxidot display and xenon headlights then look for the Tourist mode option in the menu and switch it on as there is no lever.

I've managed to flick the levers on both dipped beam headlights.

I used an old Workzone inspection camera (bought to diagnose  plumbing leak a couple of years ago!) which I think I bought from lidl. This has an illuminated camera on a long flexible but stiff lead. Discovered the lever was not black but silver (probably looked black before as it was dark way inside  the headlight unit). It was then easy to move the levers with a screwdriver now that I could see what I was doing. The levers are on the outer side of each reflector (wing side)

Job done..

I didn't want to stick things onto my new headlights. I did this on my old Superb I for years until I discovered a lever buried in the unit. The stickers untimately damaged the headlight surface.

Thanks to the previous posts to pointing me in the right direction,
