cruise control help!

Featured Replies

hello everyone,

today i installed in my fabia 1.4 16v combi elegance 2005 model a cruise control kit with the help of this site http://www.fabia-vrs.com/technical-info/cruise-control-retrofit/, i put everything in order inside the car but when i open the 81pin connector from the ecu there wasn't any white wire so i locate the 14 pin which it was empty and put the white wire in,then i activated cruise control with vag-com and test the car,the c c wasn't working and i get this message only when the cc switch is on

1 Fault Found:

17977 - Cruise Control Switch (E45): Implausible Signal

P1569 - 35-00 - -

Readiness: 1110 0101

hoping someone to help me on this

  • I have it somewhere. When I started retrofitting MK1 Fabia with cruise control around 18 years ago I used to make my own looms as the kit wasn't available at the time.

  • it worked!!!! :) turns out that my stalk is faulty, somehow film cable of the stalk is damaged, replaced with new one and works like a charm, thanks for your time and kindness.

Needs to be the right one of the two. Think it changed at some point in time, can't remember details just now. If you message me with your VIN I can look into it for you tomorrow.

i add the correct connector in frond of the wire and put it in 14pin

Its not pin 14 for the petrols, thats for diesel.

anyone?

Hi, i think you will be looking for pin number 38 at ecu, should have the white wire already in there.

Hi,thanks for your answer,

you are right,i have already do that, now i have not any fault code on vag-com,i activated the function for cruise control (option 11 Log In and enter the code 11463)but cc still not working on road,i double check all connections but i am sure something escapes me,any ideas?

As long as the live from the brake light switch is good, check the brake light and clutch switches in adv measured blocks, check they are operating.

Does the stauts of the brake light switch alter?

Does the stauts of the brake light switch alter?

not does not change,if you mean by pressing it....

Then i would suspect you have a faulty switch.

Then i would suspect you have a faulty switch.

do you mean the brake light switch?

Yes

today i replace the brake light switch with a new one (always genuine vag part),but still have no value at vag-com,i should have a '' 0 '' value when the brake pedal is not depressed and the value '' 1'' when i press the brake pedal,i don't take anything and of course cruise control is not functional, any other ideas?do i have also a switch at clutch pedal?is there perhaps the problem?

thank's for your help

have you definately plugged the wire into the brake pedal switch?

  • Author

have you definately plugged the wire into the brake pedal switch?

yes i did

You dont actually need to connect specifically into the brake light switch, thats just an ignition supply live.

Yes the clutch switch will effect the cruise operation.

  • Author

so the next step is to check the clutch switch :wonder: ,does anyone know where exactly is this switch to our fabia?if someone could upload some pictures would be very helpful, thanks all for your help

The clutch switch is in the same place as the brake switch just on the clutch pedal.

today i checked the clutch pedal switch and seems to work fine,i also check again for one more time all the connection and seems to be all the wires in their places,i am stuck, what is remaining to check?is it possible to have a faulty stalk?at vag-com the stalk switches are operating perfectly
