Bluetooth unit that operate with 2 phones, is it possible?

Featured Replies

hi all.

ive removed my Skoda OEm bluetooth out of the old VRS and not fitted it to the new one yet. Before I go down the route of fitting it or sticking it on the bay is it possible to get these to work with two phones at the same time? ie ive got a works HTC ttyii and a personal iphone4 and I get calls on both so want them to connect to bluetooth in the same journey.

Is this possible to mod the skoda oem to do this? If not can you buy units that will do it? I was thinking of buying a fiscon for the bolero integration but theres not much point if I can only use it with one phone at a time.

thanks

Not that I know of with the factory-fit unit. You can pair 2 handsets, but not connect.

Some of the newer visor-fit units have Multi-point functionality to allow 2 units to be connected at the same time. No doubt it will come eventually.

Fiscon=1 phone

I seem to recall that Parrot might have something that pairs with 2 phones at the same time?? Not OEM type fitment though.

hmm, thanks both. seems a bit of a gap in the market there but I guess not everyone has the burden of two phones! Ill have a nose around the parrot website

I haven't found a proper car kit that does this yet. Headsets, yes, and I think there's a visor one that does too but I wanted proper in car, steering wheel controls supported and no luck.

I just forward work's phone to mine for incoming calls...

Took the boss's 3-series down to Gloucester recently (highly unpleasant to drive and sit in IMHO, but there you go...) I think the in-car BT had about three phones on the go at once!?!

My Bury CC 9060 will pair with two phones, not used it often, only when on long journey and wife's phone is in car at the same time.

I haven't ever received calls to both phones in one journey but assume it will work.

You need multipoint for simultaneous connections, which looking at the Bury 9060, it does have this. Obviously, you can only take one call at a time, but it does allow for both phones to be connected so which ever one receives the incoming call will play back through the handsfree.

One thing to be wary of, is most multipoint kits default to the last phone used for making the outgoing call if initiated from the kit. Maybe the Bury kit lets you choose which phone to make the call from... Not having used it I don't know how it handles this

cheers for that. will have a look around to see if there are any bury installers in north wales/north west. Its a pity the fiscon doesnt do this as id much rather have the bolero integration. maybe in the next version they will support it.

while im here does anyone know of any decent bury installers in the north wales/north west area that youd recommend?

I would second the bury system. It is by far the best bluetooth system I have used. The voice activation and control needs no trainnig and just seems to work so well. I got mine from Halfords and they fitted it too with no issues.

Yes, it's amazingly simple to use.

I believe they're fairly simple to fit. I didn't fit the Bury in my car, the previous owner did, but I did fit the Parrot in my wife's car and that was straightforward.

ive had a fitted price for athe bury 9060plus @ £229. think its about £130 to buy but havent got a price for the iso converter yet so need to see if the difference is worth me fitting it myself. Bit of a pain having to find a perm live as the skoda oem plugged into the quadlock

Look for my post on the Nokia CK200, about £120 you can fit it yourself, has a steering wheel remote pairs 2 phones at once with separate phone books and is instantly switchable between the two via the steering wheel remote.

The iso convertor is about £25. The biggest issue with the fitting is there is very little space behind the bolero head unit. As such the control box is sat behind the air con controls and the speaker splitter is actually behind the glovebox.

I've got a CC9060 in my vrs and it does pair with 2 phones at once.

Both phones can be used and also which ever phone rings, voice on kit says phone 1 or phone 2 accept or decline.

Excellant system and fits brilliantly above the radio on a brodit pro clip.
