Silver trim either side of hazard warning light button

Featured Replies

I was at the dealer yesterday and they have a new Elegance Estate 170 CR 4x4 in the showroom. I was having a look and I noticed that the silver trim either side of the hazard warning light button seemed a bit unfinished. There appeared to be small gaps around the edges of the trim that you could almost see through... it was as if the trim wasn't "pushed home" quite right. I had a play with the trim and it wouldn't push into place any further, but it felt like it was "rocking" from top to bottom.

I then took a 10 plate out for a spin and the finish on this trim was certainly better...!

Any one noticed this on their cars...? I'm just hoping it's not a sign of the cars being rushed through production... :o :(

Rather supprised that nobody has replied to this query

The build quality of the Superb is amongst the best there is and on all the Superb models I looked at prior to ordering mine I was unable to find fault.

My Elegance 1.8T DSG was delivered mid October and it is 'Superb' in every respect so I wouldn't worry at all if I were you.

My Dealer would not display a model in his Showroom which was substandard and neither should yours - I would seriously consider changing Dealers if their attention to detail is suspect.

I'm also surprised that more people haven't responded to this, especially as I wouldn't expect it to be a common issue. Hopefully it was just me picking up on something that isn't really an issue. I'll have another look next time I'm at the dealers, perhaps get a photo to illustrate.

Car has been at dealers for a few days for extra trim fitting.

I have just been out and checked all the dash and door trims, all are a perfect fit no excess gaps or out of alignment. I do have the wood effect trim which comes right up to the edge of the Hazard warning switch, there is no chrome edging. It is possible to slide a piece of thin paper either side of the switch, so little gap switch replacement could be a problem.

.

Not noticed anything looking "out of place" on mine, it's perfectly flush with the hazard button

From what I can remember of the car in the dealer, that appears to look the same... I wouldn't have expected that gap to be there, especially as you can see the line on the very edge from the moulding process. It also looks like the trim is a little proud of the switch...? But it probably feels solid to the touch, as in it won't press home any further, that's what I noticed when I tried to press it in. :S

It was the first thing my eye picked up on when i looked at the car. I will get the dealer ship to relook at it when it goes for a service.

does anyone have a photo of how it should look please?

I have an SE that has the same silver strip, I looked at your photo and mine does not look like that.

The silver trim on the right of my hazard switch doesn't quite fit right, we are talking about 1mm so I won't lose sleep over it.

Poor QoS, especially on a part of the car that is so easily noticed. How to make a Superb not look superb in one easy move. It would not matter if it's a bit if boot trim, I think Skoda need to get this addressed.

As for the people with ill fiting dash trims, get Skoda to replace the parts, I would. (Yes, I'm a right fussy git)

What reg/age is your Superb? The 10 plate I took for a drive had the correctly fitted trim.

I've tried to find an image on the net showing how the trim should look, but couldn't see anything. Can anyone post a photo?

I might get a chance to go to the dealer tomorrow, I'll discuss it with the rep and try and get a sneaky shot... it'll look like on the tele when they have the camera peaking out of a bag to get secret pics :giggle:
