Apart from DTD who are doing best deals on OCTAVIA?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know which dealers are currently matching DTD or beating their price on Octavias. Your suggestions are welcome.

Hi tisca I was looking at dtd but have ordered a Octavia vRS diesel today at a Skoda dealer.I have done a deal with them as they are doing a VAT free deal which worked out slightly more than dtd.

Also as I have to wait for car the price is guaranteed not to go up in the new year. The VAT free deal is only on until 31st dec.

Got mine through Justin at Silbury Skoda, he beat the DTD quote.

Good deals to be had at www.carfile.net - good service too. I found them to be cheaper than DTD and they do all the manufacturer promotions. Definitely worth getting a quote.

I have just ordered an Octavia VRS.

After a fair amount of research I found that DTD were the cheapest & by some margin.

I emailed local dealers with the price & had a mixed response, none could get near the DTD price. Some of the replies contained the phrase 'bite their hand off' at that price.

At the end of last month I was passing Central Skoda Birmingham & they eventually matched the DTD price.

Thanks for the replies. Ordered new Octavia today from Gordon Lamb's of Chesterfield. They matched DTD within a few quid, 6 other dealers were £300 to £700 more. Estimated delivery mid April. Our Octavia VRS 170 CR H/B Race blue with rear parking sensors will be available from March '11. Reg. Dec. 09 (59) with approx. 11k. on the clock.

Well it ain't my local dealer. Got a trade in price against new petrol Vrs estate & also Scout, before I committed to a service plan (just in case the deal was too good to refuse, but they made my mind up for me).

They were about £1000-1300 dearer than DTD for the new car(s) and offered me about £800 less than the Glasses Guide trade in price I'd obtained online earlier this week...so not a deal that I'd bite their hand off for. Yes the cars are undoubtably still very good value versus other deals on other makes. Basically they said there was nothing more available over & above the VAT free offer from Skoda - which they claimed they finance half of. Well you have to try don't you.

It would have been the first time I'd bought the same make twice on the trot...maybe I still will in the future - who knows. I'll be keeping my current car for a while now with it's 2 yr service plan, 15 months extended warranty remaining & a new set of winter boots fitted...it does make sense.

Maybe I'll pick up a nearly new model sometime in the future...if the prices are sensible.
