Do the rear courtesy lights come on when you turn the front ones on?? so back seat passengers can see to fasten there seat belts

Yup! Good job really cos my arms aren't long enough to reach the rears from the driver's seat when the kids need light!

yes they do.

Is there any way to turn one or both of these off? When I pull up at home in the dark and turn off the ignition, open the door they come on and shine straight into my 8 month old baby's eyes.. Which wakes him up.

I think he gets a bit annoyed! So any help would be appreciated.

Do the back ones not have the middle rocker switch like the front ones?, I've not looked mind you. If not it's a bulbs out job

I'm sure it does, so it can be turned off fully all the time.... but it might be best to leave it on so that your little one can wake up & see the light... the future's bright the future's Skoda... :giggle:

HA yeah.. I'd rather he was asleep thanks ;-)

There is a button in the middle, but it only seems to turn the light on when the doors are shut (to facilitate reading etc). I can't get them to never come on if you see what I mean.

Ah, sorry, I 've just been & sat in the back & you're right there is no switch in the back to turn the lights off :S - switches to turn the lights on & off individually (as reading lights) but not toally off.

I guess the only way to do it is to turn the switch off at the front (in the headliner) for all the lights. I assume you'll be happier to live without lights better than a screaming baby!?

Odd as in the golf I can switch them off in the back.

sorry - otherwise you might want to resort to "a bulbs out job" as per dave.

Regards

Stef

You should get away with removing jut the one bulb over the nipper, try sticking something over it as a trial.

Now I am worried about back lights on estate with panorama. I know it has two lights on both sides instead of one central. And as i can remember from showroom, there was no any switches around it?! I have two kids, not so young (2 & 3 yrs), and I wouldn't like to wake them on longer trips when we stop/open doors...

It is not so bad with my other son as he is in front facing seat. My 8 month old has a rear facing seat and the light basically shines straight into his face!

Thanks for all the comments - I think maybe i'll take out the bulb. Can you get other bulbs that are less bright maybe?

Have you pressed the light switch itself?! There are no buttons but on my Yeti the ENTIRE LIGHT is the switch. It rocks around the centre to be totally off to one side, door activated on the level middle setting and always on if you press the other edge... Just a thought. I'd imagine your car's will be same as my Yeti's.
